  1. We can't even find out about the cow in our paper /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> . They stay a couple of weeks behind most of the time.
  2. Do you have any idea when he is coming to LC? The new semester starts Jan 3rd and I would think he would want to get here and get established before spring practice. I saw he teaches US History which works out good (mmm) because thats what Coach White taught, I believe, and now there is an opening for a teacher.
  3. Thanks for the present! And anyone would be happy coming to "THE LC" LOL All joking aside sounds like a real good hire for LC, I didn't know what to expect really.
  4. If you go to the Greenevillle school site this is the 2007 coaches: Head Coach: Steve McCurry Assistant Coaches: Danny Bentley, Dan Hammonds, Caine Ballard, Eddie Spradlen, Cody Baugh, Bill Brimer, Ed Tilson, Dustin Moore, Ben Hunter, Greg Dykes, Hulen Brady Where is Mike Zeller? Edit....I think I figured it out, he coached from 99-06 and stepped down (?)
  5. How about I email you a picture of some money (I don't have any, but a picture would be nice)? Have a great Christmas anyway.
  6. Upper East TN (Greeville, Mo Town, Johnson Cty, etc)????
  7. You guys are just mean! Come on, let it out!! You'll feel better when you do, I promise. Keeping it in can lead to sleeping problems, anxiety and other problems, you'll feel the weight lifted off your shouders, just let it all out.
  8. Yes Trooper is going to OSU, it was just a joke with all the rumors about him flying around. But enough of that, at least we got rumors of our own! I glad, the suspense is killing me! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  9. Don't tell anyone but, Coach Cutcliffe is coming to LC and bringing Trooper Taylor with him, at least thats what I heard! Of course my source was a Maryville fan.
  10. First let me say I m not a Ref, really wouldn't be one for twice the money. I fuss about calls and see others fuss when I liked the call, as they say you always make half the people happy and the other half mad. Now with that said I would like to know how many people who posted on here have signed up to be refs next year? I'm sure they would love to have you as they are short handed as I understand it. If you go to TSSAA.com you can get all the info you need. Not trying to be a smarty, just trying to help what some feel is a problem. Every week refs get graded, and like any job if some new ones come in a perform better, they will get the jobs and the bad ones will get left out. Merry Christmas /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  11. I think they surely have narrowed it down by now, but really haven't heard a thing. They are being tight lipped about this one.
  12. 643-dp... "How many people have interviewed?" Don't know. I heard a couple so far, but also heard 10 or 12 applied. What is their timeline for naming a coach? Guessing the first of the year, but just a guess. "Any names or rumors floating around?" Not a one (wish we would hear one!) "What does it take to be successful at Lenoir City?" Thats been the subject of lots of discussions on here. /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  13. It takes a group of good assistants too. Speaking of that, any rumors about any of the assistants stepping out for jobs elsewhere? Lot of Head Coaching positions open this season.
  14. All I heard was assist coach, and I wouldn't swear to that in a court of law. Has anyone heard of any of the assistants leaving Maryville for other postions? That would narrow it down.
  15. I've heard they have talked to a couple of people, but I don't know who they are. School gets out the 19th, I've been told (unconfirmed) that Coach White will be leaving after school gets out to move on to his new position at Maryville. I figure interviews will pick up now that the playoffs and championship games are over. I don't know how the interview process for coaches work, but if it wouldn't hurt your chances, give AD Janet McGee a call during the day (8-3:30 Eastern Time) (865) 986-2072 she can tell you what going on. Good Luck!
  16. The actual number is over 1200 and I think with 12 to 15 people applying for a job at a school that has won one game in 2 season, in this district, thats a pretty good number.
  17. Like I said before, here's one out of CA that he is competing for a postion on a D1 team. I just simply looked this up on Unapproved Website. They haven't got his Sr season but he has 64 touchdowns and 5182 yards in 2 seasons (So and Jr). Just trying to point out that although someones numbers may be big here, they might not be so big elsewhere. Plus look at this like a recruiter, Size, 40 speed, GPA, you have to have the whole package. Don't fill a kids head with "your the best" "a school would be crazy to miss you" and other stuff, it will hurt him in the long run. Be real and tell him he is very good, but not the best, work on getting better, and be proud to go where you can. Darrell Scott Running back Ventura (CA) St. Bonaventure Ht: 6-foot-0 Wt: 204 lbs Forty: 4.4 secs GPA: 3.2 Class: 2008 (High School) Rushing Statistics Att Yds Avg TD Lg 2005 (So.) 292 1,988 6.8 19 80 2006 (Jr.) - 3,194 9.5 45 80
  18. I have been told that none of the assistant coaches applied for the head job, so I would say the new hire will have come from the outside.
  19. I have heard 2 people have been interviewed already, don't know who, but the process is starting.
  20. Nothing yet, I'm guessing after the state championship games are over, give those folks a chance at the job if they want it. If we hear anything, we'll post it here! The banquet is this Sunday, maybe some rumors will come from there.
  21. I haven't heard anything about "a bunch of D1 schools" or for that matter, Kentucky. The SC thing was a rumor last I heard. Like I said before, I have never seen him run 1 foot this season, hadn't heard his name, and I really do wish him well, I just stand by what I said, if he's that good, some school will welcome him with open arms. One thing all of us have to remember, there are, I believe, about 117 D1 colleges in the US. Out of that maybe 35 - 40 are what we would call top schools. If each school gets 2 RBs this year (which they won't due to needs, scholarships etc) thats about 70 to 80 RBs total (really closer to 40 or 50). I would say there are hundreds of very good RBs trying to get those few spots. I'm sure right now in California or Michigan or elsewhere people are saying they know of the next great RB that the D1 schools will be crazy to overlook. I always want to see a person from a school in this area, no matter which one, make it as far as they can, even the ones I rooted against in High School, I now pull for harder than others.
  22. Not so much as a rumor yet! Somebody's got to let something slip soon the suspense is unbearable! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  23. I've learned over the years that D1 schools don't "overlook" very many at all. If you are good, they will find you, expecially if you play in 4A or 5A size schools. Remember that these are 18yr old guys and sometimes a Jr College route works well, get bigger, faster, stronger and how to do all the other things mentioned above, then transfer to a D1 school.
  24. I haven't seen him play, so the only thing I know is what I've read. He seems to be a good back in HS, but I am old enough to remember quite a number of "good HS backs" ( and QB's etc) that the "Vols would be foolish to pass on" that they passed on who never did much in college, some never even made it to college. Not saying all their picks are steller, but there is way more to being a good college back than playing football. There are grades, staying out of trouble, doing your job, being humble, just to name a few. I wish Mr Sterling all the best, I hope he lands in a good place and makes it big.
