That's it! I always enjoyed to hear him talk about that. And the time he knocked Johnny Majors on his rear. And the time he drew a flag while doing PA for the cats. Good stuff.
I think I remember him saying the trophy went back to Savannah. They wanted to use the same trophy every year.
My grandpa played in that game. I remember him saying we outscored them by like 4 or more TDs but only won 6-0, or something like that. Big write up in the paper and refs investigated but nothing ever came of it. I'll see if I can find his scrapbook if I ever get back home.
Come on man. Give our guys a little more credit than that. WE were the better team. WE had the good plays. WE outplayed them. THEY had the bad plays. THEY folded. Heck they even had the breaks (a magical clock that didn't run while they had the ball cough cough).
Our attitudes on the T have gotten so soft. Everybody wants to kiss everybody's butt.
