I wouldn't be worried about Jo Byrns if I was SP. I've seen both play and SP will have a big advantage up front. They have the best looking line I've seen this year and it's not even close. IF JB comes to play they might keep it close for a bit but those SP linemen will start taking over as the game goes on. JB would have to force a bunch of turnovers and catch SP with a few trick plays to make this a game. I suspect Grider will have SP playing their best. He'll use our 9-2 record and previous state championship runs to get the kids attention and we'll get the Pirates best. I just hope JB gives SP their best in return.

Not at all surprised by what happened at the game. Go read the JB vs. Westmorelad thread to see similar behavior. Like I said in that thread...the biggest disappointment for me was the coach. Sad thing is the community of Westmoreland is full of outstanding people and some might look at what goes on during a game and think that’s who they are. It’s not, it’s just a few bad apples that need to be taken care of.

Yeah the hurricane kept me away this year. I understand you being done after this year. I just can't get enough lol. Football was my first love and my wife is fully aware of that lol.

TALMAD that first year we played you guys the last game of the season and we were 8-1 and had pretty much already locked up 2nd in the region. Either way, it was a bad loss for JB that year too. They followed that loss up with another bad loss to Houston Co. in the first round of the playoffs. Anyway, when I bring up the losses to Monterey I'm not trying to slight you guys. I can understand you taking it that way but it's always going to be a bad loss if you lose to a team you think you can beat. RD44 was right with his first post, if we don't come prepared to play tonight we can/will lose and he referenced the loss to Monterey showing what can happen.

I haven't seen Copper Basin but I understand what you're saying. We've looked really bad at times this year. We'll see what this JB team decides to do! I sure would hate to be 8-2 my senior year and lose to a 2-8 team the last football game of my life!

Yeah looking at their schedule and results, that Cloudland game didn't turn out like I expected. I would expect a 3-4 TD margin of victory by JB too. Maybe more if we are firing on all cylinders.

Yeah I think Pickett Co. had about 18 players last week. As for coaches, I was telling powerP we're pretty light in that department compared to SP. What do y'all have about 15 coaches lol? I think I even saw instant replay on the sidelines. Y'all have some great players but that's a huge advantage over a lot of teams including JB. It made me think I should volunteer to help coach JB...you know with my vast football knowledge I think I have lol.

All of our posters are still around, they just don't post much anymore. Yeah I'm looking forward to next week as well but I'm going to enjoy this first round game first. Like I mentioned, playoff wins have been hard to come by. I got to where the first couple rounds didn't even matter to me, I was waiting on rounds 3-5 where the big dogs play. I do remember 2010! I ate my crow too! That 2010 team of ours was pretty young so I expected us to bounce back in 2011 but we had a ton of injuries. We haven't done much since then. This year's team has looked really good at times and really bad at times. It's now or never time so we'll see what this year's team's legacy will be.

I had to dig this thread out from page 3! Not much talk. I know plenty of JB folks still read on here but don't post (they're smarter than me lol). I can't say I've seen any Copper Basin folks on here before. Anyway, I'm looking forward to a JB playoff win! Playoff wins have been hard to come by lately; 2013 was the last one for JB! We beat Clarksville Academy 30-28 then lost to Nashville Christian 35-6.

Robertson Co. has 3 too...JB, Springfield, & Greenbrier. Good football teams bring people together, it’s great!

I agree but I LOVE that we’re back to regions and the top 4 go to the playoffs. This plan is so much better than that crap we had a few years ago when they tried to address this issue. I know it’s easy for me to say with my team in the playoffs but that old system stunk!

Yes that’s a LONG haul!!! These teams have played each other in the regular season. It’s been over 10 years.
