  1. Obviously i'm a little biased, but Crockett Co. has a ton of fans game after game and if it is a close game they are some of the loudest around. The fans in alamo are so thankful to finally have a winning program after years of frustration that the games are a MAJOR event on everyone's calendar. As for other stadiums, i'll have to agree with Big Country and say Greenbrier is probably the toughest i've been to with Johnnie Hale in Milan a close second.
  2. 1A-McKenzie over JCS close and Lake Co. over Trinity by 7-10 points 2A-CPA over Camden by 7-10 points, Milan over Peabody by 10-14 points, and Humboldt over Westview by 3-6 points 3A-South Side over Giles Co. by 10-14, Haywood over Dyersburg very close, and Crockett over Covington by 10-14
  3. Well i was hesitant to say it but now that i have some company out here on this limb i feel better. If Haywood has truly woken up then i think maybe they have as good a chance as anybody to play with dyersburg's big boys in the trenches and they have athletes to contain the dyersburg speedsters. Haywood 16, Dyersburg 14!
  4. I know one thing for sure-Jarvis Perry is a monster runner and a huge key cog in the cavalier offense. We will sorely miss him for however long he is out. The power dimension to the run game is important to the cavaliers, and on quick hitting inside plays there is hardly a chance that perry wouldn't get at least three yards. He also has underrated speed on the outside stretch play. Very sad to see him go down and i don't think his college career should be jeopardized by rushing back from this injury. While there is certainly no replacing jarvis perry, I do believe terry lyons has a lot of natural ability running the football. He is very, very difficult to bring down, never gives up on a play, and is hardly ever taken down on first contact. He can break tackles, but also has the ability to reverse the field, find a seam, and break a big one. His pass blocking may be the question mark since he hasn't been called on for much pass protection thus far, but running wise and behind a veteran offensive line he is a more than capable backup. Nevertheless, i along with all the other cavaliers hope jarvis' rehab goes well and he is able to return at full strength sooner rather than later. Good Luck Cavs!
  5. I think that if dyersburg plays as they are capable of playing they should win this game. Any injuries to key trojans we west tn fans should know about?
  6. Sincere apologies. Told you i didn't know much about it east of nashville and maybe i should have just stuck with regions 5-8. Oh well. Revised pick-Crockett 20, Fulton 16!
  7. Let me preface this by saying other than the AP poll i know very VERY little about football east of region 5, but i'm gonna pick the games anyway just cause it's fun. Here goes: Knox Carter vs. Kingston - Kingston Knox Fulton vs. Claiborne - Knox Fulton Seymour vs. Austin East - Austin East Knox Catholic vs. Gibbs - Knox Catholic Meigs County vs. Sycamore - Meigs Co. Station Camp vs. Howard - Station Camp Notre Dame vs. White House - Notre Dame Pearl Cohn vs. Polk County - Polk Co. David Lipscomb vs. Fayette Ware - David Lipscomb Lexington vs. Spring Hill - Lexington Giles County vs. Bolivar Central - Giles County Jackson South Side vs. Cheatham County - Jackson South Side Crockett County vs. Frayser - Crockett County Trezavant vs. Covington - Covington Dyersburg vs. Mitchell - Dyersburg Sheffield vs. Haywood - Sheffield Kingston vs. Knox Fulton - Knox Fulton Austin East vs. Knox Catholic - Knox Catholic Meigs Co. vs. Station Camp - Station Camp Notre Dame vs. Polk Co. - Notre Dame David Lipscomb vs. Lexington - David Lipscomb Giles County vs. Jackson South Side - Jackson Southside Crockett County vs. Covington - Crockett County Dyersburg vs. Sheffield - Dyersburg Knox Fulton vs. Knox Catholic - Knox Fulton Station Camp vs. Notre Dame-Notre Dame David Lipscomb vs. Jackson Southside - Jackson Southside Crockett County vs. Dyersburg - Crockett County Knox Fulton vs. Notre Dame- Knox Fulton Jackson Southside vs. Crockett County - Crockett Co. 2006 3A BlueCross Bowl: Crockett Co. 20, Knoxville Fulton 17 I think the only really crazy reaches i picked were pearl-cohn out in the first round when others had them in the semis, and ND going to the semis in their place. Fulton and catholic was also a total tossup, and i think revenge will play more heavily than home field in the Fulton win. Good luck to all 32 of the playoff teams!
  8. Thanks for helping out. This is why i took a month off from coach T.
  9. This was actually the first thing on my mind on the way home from covington friday night. I think coach pratt will probably play it just like any other game: if we get a big lead he will pull the starters but i think the team and all of cavalier nation wants a third 10-0 regular season to go with '02 and '03, and our second team is likely not capable of delivering a victory over the still-formidable tomcats. It's a tough call to be sure though. Will be interested to see what happens.
  10. I don't think any overlooking is taking place on obion's side, although at the beginning of the year the tomcats might have counted oc as a win. Not anymore, though, as obion will be a handful for any team to contend with. If parker was still under center i'd say rebels in a romp, but as is i'll go with obion by 6 points. Good Luck!
  11. This one should be great, i almost ditched my cavs to head over to watch it. I think dyersburg has the edge in overall speed and on the offensive line, while covington's defense is better and they have home field. I think dyersburg will pull ahead early, but the chargers circle the wagons and rally second half...it'll go down to the wire. Covington 28-24 late.
  12. Was will bartholemew, the ut fullback, also on that team at the same time as Ingle or were they different years???
  13. Just wondering who you had in mind for your list. My best guesses would be: perry, both johnsons and massey are shoe-ins. Spearman is borderline from this senior class. As for juniors, reynolds, lopez, and archuleta could all play their way into one. Well its finally game day and i'm excited about the hard-hitting, physical struggle we are sure to see tonight. Hope both teams play their best, avoid injury, and have lots of fun on the field and in the stands. Looking forward to a great one, i'm gonna pick the cavs by a score of 17-10. Perry will punch one in on one of those classic fourth quarter clock-eating drives, and a late pick from ron johnson at safety will seal the deal. Good luck to both sides and i'll see ya'll at tiny knee stadium!
  14. I also think depth could play a factor. We have been able to outlast everybody but dyersburg and pull away at the end. I know ripley is gonna be in shape but so will the maroon and gray. By the way, I know marquez jackson is one of the BIG guys up front and the prime time tight end is banarvon taylor, but who are some of the other top-tier guys and who's getting recruited from the purple tigers this year??? Just wondering who to watch for come friday so i can get my fan knowledge up to date.
  15. I think the cavs are in for a really, really tough test. I'll make a pick later, but from everything i've heard ripley has a great defense, lots of athleticism and some bigtime size. With the two big hole pluggers up front and an underrated offense, plus homefield advantage, i think we're in for a great one!
