  1. Don't know, their tryouts for 15 and up are tonight and tomorrow. Maybe someone who attended will post their numbers. I hope it went well because that would mean more volleyball players in Chattanooga, building better competition when high school season comes around.
  2. Choo-Choo City VBC in Chattanooga had a great turn out with about 150 girls trying out for 12's to 18's. Lots of returning players and new players. Happy to see the growth and talent. Looks like we will have two teams at 15, 16, and 17 and one team at 12, 14, and 18.
  3. Sounds like it was a good game. I wish I could have seen it! I am sure the girls had fun playing against each other. Congrats!
  4. I am very familiar with the red bank team and I agree that they will be the team to beat. Christina is the real deal. She has been playing under Paul Brock's 18U club team since she was a soph. I have watched her progression and she has worked hard. It doesn't hurt that she has Courtney Lawson to feed her the ball. I have coached Courtney for 2 years and she is one of those players that can do it all, and do it well. Helton's daughter on the front row adds more height and skill. With a couple other role players, they will be hard to beat. Coming from someone who has been watching and coaching most of the current Chattanooga players, I would say you'll be hearing a lot more about Red Bank this year.
  5. Sale Creek looked good tonight beating Whitwell in 3 games. The Lady Panters were led by the following: Shelby Hill 14k, 8d, 2a, 3b Stephanie Lewis 5k, 14d, 2 aces Megan Garrett 3k, 2d, 20a, 2 aces Coach Lail was very proud of her girls.
  6. They are scrappy and have been making progress from past years. I think the talk has to do more with the improvements they are making. Their coach has done a good job teaching the girls the game and you can tell they are starting to put it all together. Sale Creek is a small school with only 200 kids, and I know they will be happy with the new classifications breaking A and AA. I think they will do extremely well when they can compete with schools of their same size. Keep a lookout for the lady Panthers and I'll keep posting the scores. Watch for these players to make a big impact for Sale Creek this year. Shelby Hill Jr. MH Lanie Barnette Jr. MH Stephanie Lewis Sr. OH Holli Redmon Sr L
  7. The Sale Creek Panthers looked good defeating Lookout Valley in 3 games. Shelby Hill and Lanie Barnette led the panters with 13 and 6 kills.
  8. I couldn't agree more with what you wrote about Courtney. She is a tremendously talented young lady and a pleasure to be around both on and off the court. It has been awesome watching her grow each year during club season and I wish her the best. Johnson City won't know what hit them when the Cotter Cheerleading Crew comes to town! Congrats again and I wish you the best of luck.
