  1. Okay papa fruit. Let's talk about this year. The only opponent that Fairview and Waverly have in common is Hickman County. Fairview beat Hickman County 28-21. Hickman County beat Waverly 28-0. How do ya like them apples.
  2. This is how I see things shaking out as of right now . . . there is still alot of football to be played. . . The region standings at the end of the season will be: Region 5 1. Goodpasture 2. CPA/Fairview winner 3. CPA/Fairview loser 4. DCA/Ezell-Harding winner Regoin 6 1. Camden/Lewis winner 2. Camden/Lewis loser 3. Waverly 4. Richland/Adamsville winner 1st round results will be: Goodpasutre beats Adamsville/Richland winner CPA/Fairview winner beats Waverly CPA/Fairview loser vs Camden/Lewis loser - should be the best game in the first round - could go either way Camden/Lewis winner beats Ezell/DCA winner You heard it here first.
  3. 1. I am not complaining about the fake punt. I am happy that GP did it and Fairview scored on the play. I might have done the same thing if I had been calling the plays. I just want to say to those who say how "classy" Coach Martin is (and he is a great coach) that this was not a "classy" move. In my opinion, if you want to try out some things in live game situations that is fine, but if being classy is the goal, then you shouldn't run a fake punt when you are up by 28 points. I am sure that being "classy" and what the Fairview fans would think was the farthest thing from Coach Martin's mind - and it should have been. Coach Martin was doing what he thought was best for his team in the future. I have no problems with that. You just can't call it a "classy" move. 2. Fairview should have beaten DCA and East Robertson and don't deserve a lot of credit for doing so. My only problem is that people are on here bragging about GP putting 60+ on these two teams (as well as Fairview) and saying that Fairview isn't very good. Fairview is better than most people think they are. If you are going to use the fact that GP hung 60+ on DCA and East Robertson to talk about how dominant they are, then you have to at least admit that Fairview might be a good football team if they can put 35 on these same teams in the first half. We will see what they can do against CPA. 3. Worser isn't a word.
  4. CPA is a solid football team and will come to Fairview ready to play on Thursday night. I think that Fairview will be prepared as well and takes home the win . . . . turnovers and special teams will be huge . . . 24-21
  5. First of all, let me say that Goodpasture is better than Fairview. If they see each other again, I expect the score to be closer than 62-19, but we will just have to wait and see. Secondly, Goodpasture has put 60+ on two teams other than Fairview (East Robertson and DCA). These two teams are teams that Fairview has beaten pretty easily as well, and yet Fairview is getting no credit for these victories. Lets look at the first-half scores of these games: Fairview 36 DCA 7 Goodpasture 41 DCA 0 Fairview 35 East Robertson 8 Goodpasture 44 East Robertson 6 The reason that GP was able to hang 60+ on these teams and Fairview was not is that GP is MUCH deeper than Fairview. Also, Fairview is not going to try a fake punt when they are up by 28 points. All I am saying is that Fairview is a good football team that will either be 2nd or 3rd in region 5-2A depending on what happens Thursday against CPA. In my opinion (which is admittedly biased) Fairview wins that game. Even if they don't, you can mark it down that it will be closer than most people think.
  6. Fairview 42 East Robertson 8
  7. How is Fairview East's best chance for a win? Let's look at the rest of their schedule: Fairview - Beat Ezell 27-0. East lost to Ezell FRA - Lost to Harpeth. East beat Harpeth 20-0 CPA - Solid team. Will beat East. Could be playing GP for the Region title in week 10 DCA - Lost to Fairview 49-14 last week As I see it, East's best chance for another win this season is FRA. This is one upset that isn't going to happen.
  8. I am going to have to pick Fairview in this one. East took it to Fairview last year, but is obviously having a rough year this year. Tico is good, and will make some plays, but Fairview's defense tackles better this year and holds East to less than 14. Fairview 44 East 10
  9. Oh yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Fairview 49 DCA 14
  10. This should be a good game between probably the #3 and #4 playoff teams from region 5-AA. Both teams are 1-1 in the region. Last year Fairview jumped out to a 17-0 lead and then gave it up in the 2nd half to a DCA team that just wouldn't quit. In my opinion, either team could win this game, but I think Fairview will come out on top in the end. Fairview 30 DCA 21
  11. You already said that. Do you have anything to back up your pick. Is thinking still outlawed in Hickman County?
  12. I'm a little surprised at your score. Do you really expect Hickman to score 30 on a defense that has only allowed 12 pts in its first 2 games combined? I am not saying it will be a shutout, I am just not sure that Hickman's wing-t can hang 30 on what has been a pretty solid defense so far this season.
  13. Who wins this game? Fairview has won for the past several years, but with a rivalry like this one, the past doesn't matter. Hickman is coming off a loss to a very quick and talented Maplewood team. Fairview won last week against Ezell-Harding, who is not as good as they have been in past years. I have heard that some people are picking Hickman to win big in this one. Let me hear what you think. My pick - I think it could be a good game, but Fairview comes out on top.
