  1. It was a nondistrict game to be played at Alcoa. Not GP decision to change. Okay I'll play your silly game though and rephrase. Why would Alcoa drop the game? What did they have to gain?
  2. Put up 42 on Bearden last night. 6 threes. Believe he was the MVP of the 3A Championship last year. You decide. Pretty well or one of the best?
  3. Take your own advise. You missed the point. Why did they drop the game? They knew when they scheduled there was a good chance they wouldn't have the football players. You don't have to schedule them in case you get beat. You schedule them because it's basketball season. How many other teams changed games because they were missing the football players. Some even played scheduled games on Friday night even though Football team was playing. The fact that you missing players because they are still in football is not a valid reason to change a game. Next will be changing because a couple starters have the flu, star player injured but have him next week, etc. There is never a guarantee that you will have every player every night. So since you didn't understand the first time, Why did they drop the game?
  4. Heard they weren't playing GP tonight as scheduled because they didn't have their football players yet. Did their coach actually expect to have them at this time of the season when he scheduled the games. If you think you won't have them until football playoffs are over then don't schedule a game until after the championship. Why try to change the game now?
  5. Which Central would that be because I can't seem to find the results. I'm sure it's not McMinn Central. Don't act like your not sure we know you know where the record comes from. Did you play those games? Did you win? If not, well you know.
  6. 0-4. I guess if you get any better we just as well concede the district championship to PF. Guess game against Cosby tonight will tell a lot.
  7. Nice post. Missed the first game because I was out of town. Couldn't wait for rematch. Ended sick and missed as well. Understand I missed two good ball games. Maybe if GP and CG continue to win playoff games then finally Region 2 will give us some respect. Alcoa excluded, I believe both teams were as good as the other teams in Region 2. (Probably a mistake to say once the region 2 posters read. But everyone else voices their opinion.) Congrats on a great season. By the way, CG had GP's respect before that game.
  8. I figured and most comments from fans on both sides have been appropriate. As stated before, 05 is gone. Is Alcoa favored? Definitely, heavilly favored. Do strange things happen? Sure. The footballs not round so it bouces funny ways sometimes. (Something smart gutless genius doesn't know because by his own admittance he never saw the field til the game was decided. Iknow, I know. Low blow and lowered my standards to his but couldn't pass up after his lastet accusations.) GP's young men will give you all the effort they have Friday. Do they think they have a chance. Durn right. If they didn't why play? Abe Lincoln would have never been 16 President of our Wonderful USA had he not believed he could win. Had he lost other elections? Had he failed in business? More than once. Without hope and without a dream we would not be talking about this game as we are today. From our forefathers during the Revolutionary times, through Abe Lincoln, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, ............to our present heroes defending our country today wether we believe in the Iraq War or not. As I've said before, Good luck Alcoa. I hope we have an injury free game. As for GP giv'em all you've got and remember Thomas Edison didn't succeed in inventing the light bulb his first time (Thank goodness he perservered or we would be playing in the dark Friday.) All the GP faithful believe in you and you've got to believe in yourself. That's all that matters. When the games is over just look in the glass. If you can honestly say to him I did everything I could, I gave it all then you are a WINNER! Can't say without leaving one final thing. P it's been a pleasure watching you on Friday nights. Our prayers will be with you for a speedy recovery from that awful staff infection. And in the words of one of our Redneck heroes in these rural areas, "I'm Gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
  9. Alcoafan72 you are right on both accounts. Correct this thread is about GP and Alcoa and about the statistics. Assume you were explaining statisitcal analysis for "Genius" hope not for myself. Nice save "Genius", not. We know that is not what you were doing. How come you never answer any questions you are asked? Obviously some sour grapes toward GP.
  10. You got me "Mr. Genius". Your right you figured it out. I never attended a community college not for even a semester but this thread is not about me or even you. But for some dumb reason I think I will answer you. (I apologize to all genuine poster for going down this road.) I never attended a community college because I attended one of those higher level of learning institutions. Let me correct. I'm sorry I didn't attend I graduated from one. As opposed to you I'm not ashamed to tell. I have a degree from Mossy Creek University (Actually a degree in Mathematics.) And another degree from LMU. Now about the assuming, I learned a long time ago not to assume anything. I learned the common definition of assume years ago. You are the one that said you didn't attend school at Alcoa. "I am not afraid Alcoa would reject me Alcoa or any high school for that matter would love to have me as an Alumni." You tell on yourself. No one wants your life story. Matter of fact no one cares. We just wanted some simple answers so that you could validate your intelligence you boast of. Just because you are never a starter on a football team doesn't mean you aren't a decent high school athlete or that you did not contribute to a teams success. However, my feeble math skills compute that there are 77 positions (maybe more, don't care) where one could be a first teamer (Ex. 11 on Off, 11 on Def, 11 KO, 11 KO return, 11 on.....you get the idea). Again as I said before, sounds like sour grapes. Some reason you don't like GP? Now back to the original thread. GP has had a very good running game this year. Really don't think one needs to name because at this point most know. However, they have had a successful passing game as well. With senior Chase Young and the return of Bo Owens who took his junior year off to run Cross Crounty. Don't forget the TE though, decent size and speed. Will it hurt not to have leading scorer Matt Pittser (was leading scorer in East TN) who is out with staff and spent several days in the hospital (heard he came home yesterday). Not only does P start on O and D. He is Kicker and Punter. Should Alcoa win? Yes. Is there a chance that GP could win? Yes. Any thing can happen (P being out an example), that's why we play the games. If every AA team had a 1% chance of beating Alcoa that 1 out of 100 could happen this week. There is always a chance. Good luck (where preparation meets opportunity) to Alcoa and GP. And to the team that wins Friday, I hope they go on to win the state.
  11. I've reread Mr. White's comments and still can not find where he said you had a psychological disorder. belie [biˈlai] verb — present participle beˈlying; past participle beˈlied to give a false idea or impression of (something) Thought I would do like you and copy a definition. In other words, you gave the impression of someone who has an inferiority complex. That is not libel. Also, you missed my point. Would have thought someone in the top 1% who have understood. Here it is in black and white. If you are going to boast about being intelligent make sure and dot your I's and cross your T's. The challenge was issued. Were you a national merit, are you afraid (or ashamed) to tell us which prestigous school you attend? Obviously from your post you didn't attend Alcoa. Most Alcoa posters have given GP more respect. They know they are they favored team but anything can happen. Sounds like sour grapes on your part. As for any thing else you say, who cares? You have absolutely to credibility. Good luck to both teams and may we have no injuries Friday night.
  12. Mr. I'm in the top 1 percentile. (I'm sure you are a national merit winner since your in the 1%, right?) Typically those that brag about themselves are not what they say. If you are really smart you don't have to tell anyone we will know. Things like spellling (Counted at least 10 misspelled words in your first post. Without including grammar mistakes I believe that would be an F at any prestigous school of higher learning), things like not knowing the meaning of libel, things like thinking jackass is profanity. Jackass is a beast of burden. By the way, what did Jesus ride in to Bethlehem on? However, I do realize that it was not used in that connotation. Many players hold a varsity uniform but does that mean they played varsity football? Sounds to me that you just rode someone elses coat tail to success. With the number of colleges in Tennessee and the number of students at those schools, I'm suring sharing your school with us will tell us your identity. Why are you worried any way? Afraid Alcoa won't claim you? Whether you think you are right or not don't slam someone until you've walked in their footsteps. And don't take credit for a programs accomplishments when by your own admittance you had nothing to do with that success. Many Alcoa posters have down a good job not referring to 05. They don't have to mention it. If you've been a part of GP football you are very well aware of the game. My only statement about that game is that GP should never of been in that game to start with. Teams with a losing record should not be in post season playoffs. Is this a problem? Yes, has been for 20+ years. But this is a discussion for a different thread any way. Get a life "Mr. I'm Smarter than You". As previously stated, good luck to all players whether or not you hold a uniform or hold a football.
  13. Would have to agree with you tornadogold about the 05 game. Many things can be said about that game. Here is my take..................Like you say I'm sick of hearing about it. Different players, different head coach at Alcoa. Would talking about it change anything? No. Good luck to both teams Friday night. I'm sure they will both give it their best effort. And don't forget GPs Pittser who is laying in the hospital with staff.
  14. Some of you need to read. I believe what was originally said was between 79 and 89. Between doesn't include 79 and 89. And for who ever said it's "all about the kids", explain why from year end and year out Alcoa has players with D-1 tallent but what do we hear? Not sure if they will qualify academically. It has happened recently and it was going on 20 years ago. If it is about the kids I think someone would be concerned that those star athletes were achieving successfully. But like eagle said "this is beating a dead horse" and he also said "he would probably regret starting it".
  15. I speak from first hand knowledge. Yes he was at the game. Yes he was a starter on offense. Yes he should pay better attention to his spelling.Yes you do not want to match whits with cneagle13 you probably will lose. By the way, "Where you even at the Alcoa/GP game?" should have been "Were you at the Alco/GP game?" If you're going to correct someone elses typos, spelling, grammar, etc. make sure yours is correct. Why not give us better sources or just give us the imformation yourself. Thought this thread was about Rockwood and GP anyway? Which why the way was over last Friday night. By the way do we need to pat you on the back or something for having the game film. Wow! Just who were the freshman that were scoring at will in the 3rd & 4th quarters.
  16. Everyone keeps talking about the only reason GP won. Why did the QB leave any way. Didn't it have something to do with GPs pressure. Wasn't that there answer to stopping the spread offense?
  17. Ok I'll bite. Who were they? I would have to agree with eaglefan. What does post high school have to do with high school performance. What you did after high school all of sudden says you were bad in high school? Colleges are full of students that were good high school athletes that don't play in college. Some were just not with the right program and did not get any exposure. Some were recruited but just decided they didn't want to play in college. College sports are very demanding and require a tremendous amount of time. Many decide that playing BB, FB , etc. will not put food on the table 10 years down the road so therefore they decide to put more time in hitting the books. Does this lesson their high school career?
  18. Bud McBee's a heck of an athlete. I'm not a Pioneer fan just basketball fan but I don't believe they even compare to the 2002 team. Didn't a kid by the name of Singletary play on that team? Better not overlook CG. Believe they've got several returning and had quite a good JV team last year. Only kid I know of that PF had move in is the Quinn kid. They actually have 2 but I think only 1 plays BB. Heard GP had a couple move in from Kentucky.
  19. cneagle your exactly right about the remnants of 2 hurricanes. Had forgotten that. I seem to remember that one of those Friday nights a lot of East Tenn. schools chose not to play on Friday and moved the games to Sat. Don't remember if it was round 1 or 2. I do rember that the ones that did not play on Friday were sorry because it was worse on Sat. Overheard someone ask Bulldog about it today. "Huh, poured the rain wasn't any need for that." Just sour grapes for some (AC). Water under the bridge. PS I believe you were willing to put a wager on that. I believe several posters will take that one. Don't know if you can match atnvol though. Produce the film big boy! What's the old saying? Talk the Talk.......................
  20. So why even post on this thread? Not from Rockwood. Not from AC. In your words, don't care who wins. Just like to make accusations that aren't true and get things started. Kinda like the straw that stirs the drink. Finally, why is it that you just say sorry for touching a sore spot and denying your from AC. Why not address facts like: you would have lost your bet or explain to those that do not know, just exactly the lay out of Hammonds Field or how it rains in Gatlinburg and Pittman when the rain has moved out the Valley. Or better than anything just shut up, you'll sound smarter. As for W, might as well port back to DC, hard to get Air Force 1 stuck in Gatlinburg. The Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge airport is located in Sevierville. Enough said about the game and the field. Play football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We ARE........GP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Take a Bulldog against a Goat any day.
  21. Very well said atnvol. Hitman I certainly wouldn't gamble with atnvol. Glad to finally know who you are since many thougt that atnvol was myself last year. Hope to see a great game tonight (injury free game) and hope to see my boy back at TE catching passes from TO next year. Talk is cheap. I'm sure both teams have worked hard this week. Playoffs a great. Total different atmosphere. Either you win or you move on to basketball. Time to quit talking and play the game. "We ARE.......GP!"
  22. Say your not from Anderson County? Why bring up if not? Enough said. Sheds a new light on everything. Turn the clock back to 2002. Second round of the state playoffs (yes GP has been past the first). Rain, rain, rain. Mavericks rolled in to the thicket expecting to roll right over GP. Field was a sloppy mess. GP sent the steers home with a 14-0 loss. Anderson Co. whined and whined that GP had watered the field. Seems to me that GP had a back by the name of Hess (one in a long line of great backs). Hess had a lot of speed. Why would you water the field with a speedster like him. About the drainage (Hey boys avoid those tacklers tonight and oh yeah watch out for the ditch we dug yesterday to drain the field.) and the field, you claimed that 20 feet from the field was damp and the field had standing water. Explain to thoughs not familiar with the Thicket just exactly where 20 ft from the sideline puts one. The field has a huge crown and there is drainage that drains to the one end that is not up hill. However, the other 3 sides are all up hill. Let's see, where does that water go. Finally, if you could care a less shut up and quit whining about something that isn't true and you have no proof of and worry about your own Anderson County steers. They have a very good opponent in Carter this week. Go Hornets!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Something. If!If!If! If Alcoa, Sweewater, CAK,........weren't in your region you might not always finish fourth or lower and have to come to the Thicket!!!!What happened to the CG qb? It is football isn't it? Roast Goat is mighty good!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Your a great fan. "Rockwood isn't much and the talent isn't great." Gosh with friends like you they don't need enemies.
