  1. Ask coach Nix what team he would rather have on the field. The 05 team or the 09/10 team. Guarantee it will be 09/10.
  2. Eh, playing in both the CAK and Milan games last year, Milan was a more well rounded team, but that's another a story for another thread.
  3. I don't understand how someone who has lost the past three state championships can talk any trash?
  4. I wasn't talking about Goodpasture, I was talking about you! Haha, when will you learn the players for Alcoa are much more humble then the posters on this thread. I've played for Rankin for 4 wonderful years, I know they will be prepared for Goodpasture. Take one look at Brian Nix's defensive schemes and your head will explode because we already know what you will run and when you will run it.
  5. You are extremely ignorant for this post. I've played for Alcoa in four state championships. We never once took a team for granted, including the so called cupcake teams. If you think this Alcoa team is any different from past years you are sadly mistaken, and it will be a long drive home for you. And you shouldn't think you should win every game when you only made it to the semis every year.
  6. At Alcoa, all football players are required to take the Weight Training class. Other sports aren't required but most coaches like them to take the class. Although in basketball I don't think it should affect the shot too much, baseball is very different. If your arms become too big it decreases the extension you have when throwing the ball, making it harder to throw it faster and harder. Not working out at all though, in any sport puts the team at a disadvantage from other schools.
  7. Fixed The offensive line will change the most. Evans being the strongest and most experienced on the line will move to the blindside tackle. Mangum will move down to the other OG spot. Stephens, well, don't get me started on him. Rankin will hold down the spot at center. They will move Loy to OG; hard worker and does what he's asked. Finally, Manuel will have to step up and gain some physicality if he wants to play at the varsity level. Just my 2 cents.
  8. I was on the field Friday. MLB #19, Avery Williamson has the worst trash talking mouth I've seen in my four years of playing at Alcoa. I cam into the game respecting him but left with a very different oppinion. Now that I'm not playing for the team anymore with this win, I can come out and say i was a player on this tornado team.
  9. It's not like he asks for the ball. HE still achieved the accomplishments. Is Alcoa's O-line great? Yes. And he's the first one to mention that he couldn't do it without them, heck he even treated the entire O-line to 200 wings at Buffalo Wild Wings. The people that are looking in are saying he. Not Toney himself.
  10. It's simple money rules the world, that includes TSSAA. Although I do believe Jaron should get the award, I also believe being apart of Alcoa has helped. Watch the film on JaRon. He breaks more tackles than any running back I've ever seen out of Alcoa. The includes Lyndsey and Shiverdecker. Now granted, I also believe the awards are more likely to give it to Toney because two Mr. Football winners on one team will dramatically increase the number of people attending that game. The TSSAA gets 50% of ticket sales. It's sad, but money rules everything.
  11. Or possibly coach Rankin had a hunch Milan would win their game against a below average York team, that gave Milan quite a handful in the first half.
  12. JaRon Toney will win this for 5 reasons. 1. He broke the record for rushing touchdowns in a season with 47 2. He broke the single season point record with 294. 3. He goes to Alcoa. 4. He is very humble young man and also intelligent, with a GPA just under 4.0. 5. He tore apart State championship contender, Maryville, with 5 td's.
  13. OL/DL wise CAK is much better. I'll be surprised if Central's OL will be able to touch CAK's DL. But #4 for Central is a real ball player and could cause possible trouble if they take the risk and actually blitz against a pass heavy CAK team. My prediction though, and sorry Chargers but, CAK: 28 Mcminn Central: 3
