Obviously, from what everyone says on here, GP doesn't have any go to guys on the team. Had they not schedule weak opponents the would not have even been in the playoffs. Alcoa (acronym for Aluminum Company of America) wouldn't exist if not for the plant. If not for John Robertson and John Sevier Tennessee would be part of the Carolinas. Shoot, if not for Columbus, Captain John Smith, Pilgrims, etc..... there wouldn't have been a USA as we know of it.If, If, If..........As the original thread says 0-0. You really give Rockwood a lot of creidt for their schedule. Seems like GP played Midway last year. But as usual lets bash GPs schedule instead of giving the kids credit for what they have accomplished.

You looked at GP schedule have you looked at Rockwoods? You give them a lot of credit. Lets see. Non Conference games against 3 Single A teams and 1 against a AAA team (who is sitting at the house watching playoff results). Just out of curiosity though do Coaches not make adjustments on Friday night? Do they not make offensive and defensive calls? I guess they should stay home out of the cold and the mud where GP waters down the field as you say.

You have no idea how many State championship trophies are in my high school troph case. You know good well from previous post that I'm not a Maryville alum. As usual you missed the whole point of the post. I'm sorry, actually you didn't. You just chose to spin a different way. Change the topic. Slam another program because they don't have as many trophies as you. Oh that's right you don't do that. Here is the point since you choose to ignore and don't address. You so eloquantly pointed out that Maryville would not have exited the black hole had the bad ole TSSAA not split Tennesse High School sports into two divisions. In other words had that not happened they wouldn't have one those championships without the competition being watered down. Same logic says BA would not have won those state Boys Basketball championships without the split. The second part does address this thread no matter how much you and skidattledoo say it doesn't. You say it is all about scheduling and how much you respect Maryville footbal and would love to see those teams play again in the state tourney. BA chose to go the way of DII. They did not have to. All Private sshools did not go that way. Anyone that follows Tennesse athletics knows what is required for them to be DI. So if your longing to see those tourney rematches again BA needs to make the change not Maryville. There is the answer to this thread. Deny it you will. If not, you will avoid. Turns out very simple solution. If you have a problem with this way then the only thing it could be is that your afraid there just might not be enough championships to go around. Obviously there wasn't in Boys Basketball until the split.

Been gone for a while hoped this thread would be gone. Did some Brandonesk research while gone. People have been quick to point out how Maryville went in the black hole for several years. Also, how they didn't come out of until the mean ole TSSAA decided to split things into DI and DII. This watered down the competition so that Maryville was able to find there way out of the black hole. Well in doing some digging I found that Brandon and Skidoo's Beloved Brentwood Academy had never won a Boys State Basketball until after things were split into 2 Divisions. Wonder how those locallly grown wonderful athletes could never win until after the split? Second, I found the answer to Brandon's question about schedules. The answer has been right in front of us all the time and actually is quite simple. And no the answer is not in Maryville's schedule. The ANSWER is with BRENTWOOD ACADEMY. Brentwood chose to go DII they did not have to. There is a simple way that they could be DI. Just give up scholarships!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Ain't going to happen and everyone knows why.) The split is not Private and Public. If it were schools like Knoxville Catholic, CPA, etc. would not be DI. So guys do something about what you can control and you will be able to see those wonderful state championship games that you say you so long for. Of course if BA chose to give up scholarships they just might be thrown in the division with Maryville and then they just might not win as many championships as they would like. Obviously you have a problem with Maryville. Don't have to look through RED color glasses to see that one. Let's see you love facts. From 1973 to 2007 that would be 35 graduating classes. If my math (Granted I might be wrong since I'm not a BA Graduate) is correct that would be slightly more than 71 (71.4) average per graduating class. Has BA actually been that small. Heck with 100 avg. that would be 3500 alums. From the number of BA supporters posting on this thread seems like there is not a lot in Williamson County that agree with you. All news is good news.............................that is kind of like saying.....................I'm not even going to go there!!!

Last time I checked it was the athletes that played those games not the schedules that played, not the coaches, not the admins. Brandon100 has no clue as to what he posted or just has selective memory loss. But how many teams did he imply had weak schedules and how many teams did he say were cupcakes? Let's not forget these "cupcakes" that he refers to are 14 -19 year old kids. Let's see someone pointed that Maryville once beat BA in the state championship I believe 27-0. BA got beat that bad in a state championship? You would think there would be better competition in a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. Gosh I guess by his own conclusions BA most have been a "cupcake" that year. Be sure and use some facts, like to relevance of your beloved county being the 9th richest county in the U.S. and 1st richest county in Tennessee. Like this has any thing to do with it. By the way, I have found that Williamson County is considered any where from the 8th richest county to the 27 richest county in the U.S. That same rich county you are so proud of is the same county that in 2003 was the only county in Tennesse in which the county commission voted against the "Tennessee Ten Commandment Resolution". Now there is something to be really proud of, almost as much as the genius that spends all his time on coacht instead of trying to make Williamson county the No. 1 richest county in the USA.

Again, we only recruit students not athletes so that makes it okay..................... Wonder how many on those wonderful championship teams were not from that little bitty town of Brentwood. Where it is so small everyone knows everyone else.

He only played one way and seems if my memory serves me the only reason he went to BA was because he was recruited to come there and play. Oh yeah, this never happened though, did it? Students were only recruited to be students, right?

It's writers like you that give the media and other writers a bad wrap. Try to justify bashing a program in the name of getting people to "think" or in the name of saling papers, magazines, etc. If you are smart enough you should be able to get people to think in other ways than being negative about a program. Not hard to tell from your posts how you feel. The ultimate thinkers or philosophers can throw out a topic for discussion without anyone every knowing where they stand. Oh, and by the way I think I speak for other East Tennesseeans in saying that a year at UT does not make you an East Tennesseean.

If you don't have anything else to do during DB off week why not say a pray for Bears QB's father who is in a hospital fighting for his life after being hit by probably a drunk driver. Obviously a lot of off field distractions for him. Good to see them do well last week. Things like this remind us that it's just a game and these boys are teenagers going through things like everyone else while trying to stay focused.
