  1. I know. It happened my senior year, last game I ever played. Just an inside joke. I think Milan will handle Westview without my help so I may head to Carrol County and watch this one. The announcers voice still gives me nightmares though.
  2. And if Milan had thier O line from 2003, their D line from '99, Rod Smith in the backfield, Doc Roberson in the secondary, Coach Tucker and Coach Morris sharing the coaching duty, and the Dalas Cowboy cheerleaders, we'd we could win state in 5A.
  3. I think you'll agree though, at times it's been as if a 12th man was playing there in november.
  4. The trip to memphis is a rough one. I had to do it a couple of times. Glad everyone made it out ok. The town of Milan should be more hospitable. The team in milan, not so much. They'll be tough.
  5. Huntington certainly had an impressive game last week, but you will be playing a very different team Friday. I greatly respect both teams, but will be pulling for Huntington. I have my doubts though. I don't expect Holder to run for 500 yards again. JCS will be focusing on him, so Huntington may have to find a different way to score. A word to JCS though, Paul Ward is haunted.
  6. I like our chances. What was the Westview score friday night?
  7. Every high school football team that enjoys success has fans that become arrogant. I can think of 3 or 4 milan posters that fit this description, 3 or 4 alcoa posters, goodpasture, you name it. If a team is good, some biased fans will be arrogant. If Milan had the accomplishments over the last 4 years that alcoa has, then there would be more arrogant milan fans. It doesn't stink to "not be alcoa" I'm sure it's great to be alcoa, but it's also great to be milan, I'm sure it's great to be goodpasture, CPA, etc. Alcoa will probably be good for decades to come but they will not win state every year. Neither will milan or any other 2a team. However, until a 2a team beats Alcoa, I can't fault them for anything their fans say. I may disagree and choose not to read or listen, but if Milan had just graduated a class of seniors with twice as many rings as they have ring fingers, I know what my opinion would be too. I have respect for eveything Alcoa has done. I've heard nothing but good things about their style of play and their coaches and I hope that Milan plays well enough tonight and the next 3 weeks to line up with them come December. If that happens, milan fans and alcoa fans, both arrogant and humble with go at each other for a full week here on Coacht. But us posters won't have any affect on the game. At kick off it will be 0-0 and both teams will expect to win. Let's hope all of the players stay healthy throughout the playoffs.
  8. Onesix, you need to be focused on practice and film, not coacht. I seriously doubt that Morris would approve of you riling up the alcoa fans. Besides that, you need to be focused on the games preceding December 5th right now, there are a couple of hard ones. Let us has beens talk crap on the internet, you need to focus on what happens on the field.
  9. I know it's unlikely but I would love to see the ten yard line procedure put into play sometime.
  10. I never played Westview when the game wasn't close. I've seen Milan get up early and it still be close at the end. I don't think this is the same caliber Westview team we're accustom to, but it's still a rivalry game. I think milan will win by 2 touchdowns.
  11. As annoying as it is to have Alcoa posters search out Milan threads and tell us how bad they will beat us if we make it, they have a lot of rings to back up their talk. I think if Milan makes it, they will give Alcoa a better game than they will be expecting; This being said, it's even more annoying for teams that have never won a State championship or even ever beaten Milan to get on here and tell us how bad Alcoa will beat us. USJ has been terrible for the past two years. Milan has embarrassed them. This year, they are good. They have an excellent passing game and good pass protection. Milan still beat them. If we play again, we'll beat them worse. Milan is a different team come November. To all the Alcoa posters, Milan is terrible. We don't deserve to be on the same field with you. We probably won't make it to the finals but if we do, we'll probably just take charter busses to Murfreesboro, eat a big team meal, and pick up our silver ball. Why risk injury for nothing. No need to play.
  12. onesixes, you may should buy a power ball ticket. I've seen scores accurately predicted before, but not scores like 56-6.
  13. By more experience together I mean that this group of coaches has been together with Milan in the playoffs for 12 years. Most teams keep a few coaches but have a few come and go. These have been together with one system for a long time. Maybe not the longest of anyone it Tennessee as I previously said, but probably close. I understand that you're not trying to down Milan and I don't take it that way. Criticism is necessary and this year's team has earned some criticism. They have not played perfect and many, including myself, would say at times they haven't played like a state championship caliber team. This being said, they are 8-0 with room for improvement. With the talent they have, I believe they will improve. Milan always seems to improve a lot when the playoffs start and this year they are more talented than usual. The coaches are also very experienced in the playoffs and many of the players have been there as well.
  14. I do know the coaches personally and you just have to trust that they do a very good job getting and keeping the team excited. They don't yell as much as some and they seldom ever (with the occasional exception of Coach Morris with a ref) publicly show their displeasure during a game. It is instilled throughout the year and constantly felt by the players. These coaches are have more playoff experience together than any team in the state. They know what they're doing. They'll show it when they need to.
  15. Milan will win. That is obvious. Championship caliber teams, when playing teams like Trenton, still look like Championship caliber teams. Milan should get a big lead early and put the second and third string in. If this doesn't happen then this says something about Milan. I hope to see and early lead and a shutout.
  16. Well I can pick up 94.3 up here at my cabin so I thought I would save myself some gas and time. Knowing what I now know I would drive to knoxville to watch a game before listen to that again. It is expected to be one sided as it is JCS' station but that was comical. Yelling at refs on the radio. Come on lets be professional. And if it were a good play for Milan the only way I knew was from the silence on the radio. Every play when JCS was on offense the announcer made it sound as it were a 30 yard gain when it was a 3 yard draw. Said when one would rather read text updates every ten minutes than listen to it live. Anyways, good to see us get battle tested like this and glad to have these air attacks behind us.
  17. Husker, I'm as big a Milan fan as you will ever find, and I'm glad you root for the team, but you make the entire town look bad. Your sometime ludicrous score predictions are fine, and most of your sh** talking doesn't bother anyone but when you call people bums whom you've never met, and brag about how much you make, and brag about how much you bet on football games (not sure why you would brag about that, if you do it fine, it's a personal decision, but it doesn't impress anyone), it makes you look immature and stupid. No one cares if you have 24s on whatever vehicle you drive. If rims are what you want to spend your huge piles of money on then go for it, but no one else cares. Root for the team, make whatever score prediction you want, talk crap but all the other stuff is immature.
  18. USJ actually had negative 1 rushing yard against Milan. Looking forward to a good game. Since we've been playing JCS they have proved to be nothing but first class players and fans and usually a talented team and I'm sure Friday will be no different. Hopefully we defend the pass better this week than last and continue to have a good ground defense. Our offense should keep doing what it has been doing all year especially since we should have a couple of our big play makers back.
  19. Jackson had a badly bruised leg. He'll be back Friday. Peoples had a concussion and will be day by day I assume. J.W. could be back this week but next week is more likely, Trey Milan was having back spasms and should be back Friday as well.
  20. When respect is earned I always show it. Milan has been earning respect for fifty years now. USJ earned some respect by playing a good game against Milan last night. They still have a long way to go in the respect department but if they keep fielding teams like this year's, and play clean football, they will earn a lot more in years to come. Again, a very respectable game last night and perhaps we will meet again in the playoffs.
  21. I'm don't think this is even sentence, but I assume your talking about Coleman. Do you have a problem with a kid moving 20 miles to live with his father? And could you explain to me what milan would offer to their signees if they recruited? Scholarships to a public school? maybe free lunch vouchers? Reguardless, this was a fun football game to watch. Like I said earlier, I was impressed with USJ. They are much better than in the past and should make the playoffs. A good QB and a few good recievers plus a line that protects well makes a team that is hard to defend. Nearly a thousand yards of total offense between the two teams. Fun to watch.
  22. Well next year USJ will be DII, will be able to officially recruit, and won't have to worry about enrollment. As it is, the multiplier is in place for a reason, and the best region 8AA team won last night with 4 important starters out. USJ will win several more games this year and will make the playoffs. Perhaps we'll meet again.
  23. Humboldt isn't as bad as their record looks. I dont guess they made the adjustments neccessary to play a pass heavy team though huh.
  24. It seems everyone blames refs, and nobody likes to hear stories about how bad the refs are. I also think the job is harder than everyone makes it out to be so I try to go pretty easy on the zebras, but I have a question. Milan is about to punt...4th and 3. Before Milan snaps the ball a USJ lineman lunged. It looked to me like he entered the neutral zone. When this happend a Milan lineman stepped back. A flag was thrown. The refs conversed and eveyone was trying to figure out if it would go agains USJ for neutral zone or against Milan for false start. The ref picked up the flag and waved it off. Now it is undeniable that someone committed a penalty. Who was to blame could have been debated. But how do you wave off the falg? Everyone saw 2 players move early. This was one of several very questionable calls. It just confused me. Milan did well considering 3 starting DBs were out and our best Offensive lineman was out for over a half (he's ok, just a bad bruise). With our regular DBs in the game, Overby doesn't have quite the same success. USJ is much improved from years past, especially their lines. I was impressed with their pass protection. Gilbert 250 yards and 4 TDs. He's real good.
  25. Dont get so defensive. We all have opinions but no one said anything about recruiting. I've just heard a lot about USJ and JCS moving to DII and was curious how many teams there were currently. Plus, If Briarcrest was #9 out of 11 teams, you should hardly brag about beating a top ten DII team.
