  1. yeah that was pretty mature. Dont let one person's posts reflect upon the entire fanbase please.
  2. There are a lot of people going by scores against common opponents. I would think that most people with knowledge of football would know that that isn't a very accurate way to determine who the best team is. Now most people are picking Westveiw, and they should. If I was from Middle Tennessee and didn't have anything to go on but record and common opponents, I would pick Westview too. Westveiw has earned this. They are undefeated to this point and Milan isn't. Likewise, Westveiw fans will pick westveiw if they are playing the Colts and Milan fans will pick Milan in that spring game against the Patriots. That??™s just the way life is. But if anyone on this board thinks that Huntington is a better team than Milan this year please let me know. I only bring this up because that fluke loss is the only thing that keeps this from being 9-0 Vs. 9-0 for the region title. I understand people picking against us but some of you are acting like you are playing Manassas this week. No I don??™t think Milan has played as well as they are capable of yet and if anything this should worry Westveiw because we've beat some pretty good football teams despite this. Now I know what this game is like. I've played Westveiw with the region title on the line and I've played them in the playoffs and I assure you that nothing that anyone has said on this board will matter. This will be the game of the year. The two best team in the best region in the state playing in week ten for the region title. I promise you nobody on the field (for either team) will care that Westveiw has scored more total points this year nor will they care that Milan has allowed fewer. All that will matter is that there are two very tallented teams with outstanding athletes facing each other under a cool november sky before a standing room only crowd for the region title. It doesn??™t get any better than that. This game will draw a better crowd than any skyhawk game this year and regardless of who wins those people won??™t be disappointed with the game. If westveiw wins I will start a thread congratulating them on their 10-0 season and their region title because it will be well earned but win or loose I will be ready to see the rematch in the playoffs. Westveiw, you have everyone's respect including mine. But you aren??™t facing a team that has never been in this spot before. You're facing Milan and I think we've earned our respect too. 129 hrs and 5 minuets till game time.
  3. I love it when everyone picks against us
  4. I work with a guy who play on the Westveiw team in '03-'05. He has mentioned that. If a game is close, I like our chances and with both team giving up less than 10 PPG, it should be close. Milan.
  5. Reminds me a lot of the post another guy used to make. (very ignorant posts that is) But he lost a bet and along with it his coacht privledges so it couldn't be the same guy.
  6. We like to hit our stride late and cary it through the playoffs. The bulldawg offense has been underachieving but not badly. We've had a lot of penalties and just enough poor execution of blocking assignments to end promising drives. It would be nice to see a lot of points on the board, but as long as we have more than the other team, i wont complain too much. We arent far from playing up to our potential and when that happens it will be fun to watch.
  7. And we all appreciate it. I really was expecting to hear about that all week. I'm glad Trenton has improved over the last couple of years, I just dont think that their one dimensional offense will be enough to do much against milan.
  8. I thought it was against your moral fiber to bring MILAN into a thread unless it was about them. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=". But thanks for the good words. Good luck to you as well against Gibson County. Praying for no injuries. I want everyone healthy here in a couple of weeks.
  9. So JCS wins state in 1a moves up to 2a and makes a real statement, winning a few games against opponets that were supposed to beat them and keeping pretty much all of their games close against teams that were supposed to blow them out, and keeping a small chance at a playoff apperence. USJ dose not win state ever in anything related to football. Moves up to 2a gets man handled. wins like 3 games in 2 years and continues to loose to pretty much all of their region opponets and it's JCS that you claim is "getting better"? JCS by 14
  10. Really not that big of a rivalry. I can only remember Trenton beating Milan once. Up untill last year, they were a region doormat.
  11. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Chevy approved of my post /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> i dont know what to say.
  12. JCS's line didn't take "cheep shots" or "chop block" I played on the line and i've seen both. They did dive face down on the ground so the linemen couldn't get to the linebackers and the RB had to bounce it. (btownboy, now matter how low you come off you cant get under someone laying on the ground) The most respectable way to play defensive line? no. but they did what they felt they needed to do. It's not the way I would do it but i'm not the coach and no one cares how I would do it. They lost, nobody got hurt all's well that ends well. Both JCS and USJ pass protect well. Milan's line hasne't been playing up to it's potential yet. Maybe they will get it clicking like they're capable this week. I haven't seen Westveiw this year but they apparently have a good line. Cant wait to see them in action. My guess as to who has the better line right now...I call tails.
  13. Guy was good. I played against him. He has graduated and is totaly irrelevant. Cunningham is good. Not as good as GCpioneer thinks and not as bad as a lot of people think. To get the yards that he has behind the team that he has is impressive but on the same hand a lot of running backs that are just as good or better have fewer yards because their offense is more balanced than "hand it to cunningham" If anyone can get them I'd like to know how many all purpose offensive yards GC has had this year and how many of them Cunningham has gotten. Reguardless of how good Cunningham is, he will be facing one of the best defenses around friday night. The one time i've seen him he didn't do much to impress me and without any balance to the offense I dont see him impressing anyone friday. Westveiw should win this one without much problem.
  14. This may be the longest game of the year. I'd start at six if I were in charge.
  15. Homecoming is not a motivation, it is a distraction. I hate homecoming. I dont think i have ever seen a team play their best game after the seniors excort the royalty and they crown the queen. It's a lot of distraction.
  16. Players act the way they were raised to and teams play the way they are coached to. Are all USJ players guilty? nope. Are a whole lot of them. From what I've seen, yes.
  17. Trenton beat Gibson County because harper managed to break loose with seconds left and find the endzone. If you had more than Kendal, that game wouldn't be close. If you didn't have him you loose. Milan hasn't given up the big play all year and their defense is solid and very fast. I say milan by 13.
  18. I apologize if I offended you by acknowledging the obvious. God forbid I make a post about a future game after the primary game of the thread has already been played. Does my bulldog picture also stir up unpleasant emotions? Again, congratulations Westview. from: an anonymous poster from an anonymous town Disclaimer: as you scroll down there will be a picture that may be offensive to some viewers. 19. He broke his neck and will never play again. He knows he will never play again. He still reports to practive every morning at 5:30. He has never missed a team meeting, He has never missed a film session, and he still encourages and helps his team mates every way he can. heckuva guy. I feel privledged to know him.
  20. Par for the course. Congratulations Westveiw. Since I dont play anymore I'm alowed to look ahead. Week 10 is inching ever nearer and promises to be a classic.
  21. Normaly Milan has one of the biggest teams around. This is the first time in a long time we have had this much speed. It means we have to change our game a little but I think we have adjusted well. Plus we still have just enough size to run at people. The milan coaches have also done a great job getting kids faster. I remember hearing them say that we had to get faster. Goodpasture last year was too fast for us to keep their running backs contained. This year they did a lot more stretching and running over the summer than in years past and it has really paid off.
  22. I doubt JCS is going to give up any info. I havent heard what kind of D they run but I have heard that they run it well. Small but fast and strong. I also heard that they run the ball quite a bit better than USJ but they are still predominatly pass. The QB can run and they have some run plays designed for him. A well coached and very capable team.
