  1. Hosster 345454- The only person "out of position" is possibly Scott Queener who has had experience in the infield in summer league and some in high school. Counting Scott, Loudon has five quality outfielders and only two original middle infielders who are pitchers in the regular rotation. So who would you play at shortstop? Sometimes players have to play different positions for the overall benefit of the team, especially when you are in good shape at other positions. The Loudon/Kinston game will be a battle as always between two teams with deep baseball tradition. It will be hard to keep their hitting down.
  2. Loudon-13-1 overall, 3-0 in District-4AA.
  3. At Loudon: #1 seed LC vs # 4 seed Greenback- 1:30 #2 Loudon vs #3 Harriman Championship
  4. Bric-the games at Loudon have all been played, so that should not affect your game tomorrow barring anymore bad weather. The field may not be in the best shape, but without anymore rain the games should be played as scheduled tomorrow. Good luck against Kingston.
  5. Greenback dates (at Greenback): March 29 vs. Sequoyah-7:15 30 vs. Catholic-5:00 vs. Austin East-7:15 31 vs. Midway-7:15 April 1 vs. Fulton-7:15 2 vs. Sweetwater-7:15 3 TBA on seeding
  6. Correct me if I am wrong: NONE of those pitchers other than Lambert were on district championship teams. Lambert was on four consecutive championship teams ('99-02). A dominating pitcher can certainly help, but is not the end all to everything.
  7. Yes, the top two teams should have a very good chance at winning a regional game this year. Gibbs and Seymour both lost a lot of talent from their teams which appeared in the state tournament last year. The region is really down as a whole so it could be anybody's to take.
  8. Do they have anything more than last year when they finished third in the district? And if so, whom? What is their rotation going to be?
  9. I think you mean what "do" the Redskins have this year. I'm sure that was just a typo. Regardless, they lost three senior starters from last year and are still in a rebuilding phase after their run of four straight district championships from '99-'02. Losing their shortstop to LMU is sure to hurt them up the middle with him being a three-year starter and able lead off hitter. The other two senoirs also contributed by batting over .300 with the first baseman leading the team in RBI's. They do however have probably the best pitcher in the District, if not Region (AA ), in Aaron Everett and returning catcher Davy Worley, centerfielder Scott Queener, and pitcher/second baseman Daniel Curtis. After this just about every position is up for grabs and that is what will make this a rebuilding year. The favorite in this district should be Kingston. I believe their first game is on March 16th with the Redskin Preseason Jamboree March 4-6.
  10. It will basically be the high school team minus the four on the traveling teams when games conflict. We would like to get the incoming freshmen and first year starters some work. We usually play in the Oak Ridge league but other sports and traveling teams are taking their toll.
  11. Loudon's summer league team is looking for games this summer. Due to four starters playing with traveling teams and basketball camps later this summer, we are unable to field a team that could consistently play in a league. Will travel 30-45 min. from Loudon or play anyone at home. If interested contact Jack Hewett at (865) 387-1807 or email at unitedwirelesstn@aol.com.
  12. LC Born IF you are Draper (which I believe you are) QUIT pumping yourself up. You are obviously an intelligent (from reading your posts) and talented player, but if you are going to play in college you are a dime a dozen. Trust me, I played at Tennessee Wesleyan and we went 35-9 (1993) my senior year and a lot of quality players sat on the BENCH. This was just an NAIA school (whom by the way was beating UT going into the bottom of the eighth and out hit them 9-6 and are ranked seventh in the nation). Please grow up and just do it on the field.
  13. Anyone know of any scores from 3AA?
  14. Loudon finished 16-10 overall and 10-0 in the district. Pretty tough out of district schedule. Won 9 out of last 11.
  15. Leaders for Loudon (23 games): Nathaniel Henderson- .417 BA, .527 OBP. Davey Worley- 17 RBI's Aaron Everett- 7-3, 1 SV, 2.02 ERA, 71 K's in 55.33 innings Daniel Curtis- 4-1, 1 SV, 1.78 ERA, 35.33 innings
  16. Loudon would like to play someone this friday. If interested contact Bill Thompson at the highschool (458-4326).
  17. Loudon threw Dusty McCollister in the first game and Cody Watts in the second game. It was Dusty's first start of the year and he threw very well. The second game was a varsity and not a JV. Loudon just moved a few people around. Rockwood has a solid team and I would say that in east tennessee they would have to be in the top two or three single teams, if not the best. In my opinion, even though they lost to Harriman earlier in the year, they are a better team (I have seen Harriman also-just one game-and they just don't seem to be as good).
  18. Loudon would be interested in playing someone on the following dates: Sat., Apr. 19 and Fri., Apr. 25. On the 19th we would like for a couple of teams to come to Loudon and everyone play two games. The game on the 25th does not really matter. Contact Bill Thompson at Loudon High School(865)458-4326.
  19. What time is the Rockwood - Harriman game tomorrow? Also, who pitched for Rockwood and Oliver Springs in the game Friday?

    Loudon's team

One more thing to add - We had beaten you 9 in a row before you got us at the end of last year and then this year (So you now have a streak). Loudon has a pretty good tradition themselves.

    Loudon's team

You are right that one pitcher does not make a team. The one that started is the number 4 or 5. That was his first high school game. It is still an early season and a lot can change. The shortstop that came in to pitch and got the loss should probably be the number 3. Correct me if I am wrong, but you threw your number 1. Also from my count the hits were even at around 6 or 7 (not exactly sure). You are right that there is a drop off from the last couple of years, but this team might suprise you later in the season (have only played 2 games-1-1). McMinn Central has a good team, is always scrappy, and has a really good tradition. Good luck to you in district play and the season.
  22. Who does Loudon have returning? Also, what will Lenoir City, Anderson Co., and Kingston look like?
