  1. Marion and LV are definetly the teams to beat. Recent state tourneys for both make both automatic favorites. Both teams lost huge senior leadership and pitching. Don't sleep on Signal Mountain and South Pittsburg. Signal Mountain played in Region as a 1st year program last year and returns their entire team. SM swing the bats well, pitching is their question mark. South Pittsburg finished second to LV in regular season, 20 win season while starting 5 freshmen and a sophomore. SP top 12 players(no seniors) all had significant roles last season. SP strength should be thier pitching. 6A may be the toughest single A district in the state. Top 2 teams from this district have a great chance at making a deep run in postseason.
  2. this thread had nothing do with Marion
  3. Or is the 8-1 record a result of a weak schedule?
  4. Marion 5 DCA 3 Congrats Warriors, I couldn't be prouder. 1 game at a time.
  5. I had Tommy John surgery my senior year in college. Dr. David Denneka in Murfreesboro did my surgery. He also was a pupil of Dr. Andrews. He did an amazing job. It has been eight years since my surgery and my elbow feels great. I coach high school and I am still able to challenge my kids every now and then during bp. Recovery will take a while, but it is possible to satrt throwing and playing again in less than a year (depends on the individual). Getting on the mound may not happen, but stepping on the field and helping his team is definetly attainable by next seson. As far as playing through the season with the tear, it all depends on the type of tear. Your son needs an MRI and a specialist to help you guys out. There is 3 weeks left in the season for most teams and if he can play through the pain and still help his team, then try to finish the season. It usally takes 2-3 weeks to get surgeries set-up for orthopedics any way. I would say have a date set immediately after the season ends. Good luck and I hope all goes well.
  6. what's the status of the game. When will a decision be made?
  7. Coacht, This is the correct schedule and results for Marion Co. The system will not let me log in to add games or delete. Could you please modify. Thanks fo a great site, Marion Co. 8. What do you guys think? I would like to see tournaments go back to 3 pool play games with the semis and final game remaining the same. With most district games being played Monday and Tuesday, team pitching really becomes an issue. I think this would add some more competitive games by allowing some of the better pitchers to throw more innings. By Saturday pitching becomes thin for all teams. I understand we've gone to the four game tournys due to TSSAA cutting the number of regular season games and allowing teams to play in 3 tournamnets, but I think for more competitive games and having pitchers at full strength for their District games is best for all involved.
  9. CBG, you have to be the most ignorant person i have ever heard on here. so what state and city are you from where they have one "true" state champion?
  10. I will agree that Coach Melton runs a classy program. However, they have the most BUSH LEAGUE assistant coach I have ever seen. Some of the things I have seen Heath Mason do are absolutely rediculous. if he is granted tenure, I feel for Grundy's program and kids.
  11. Setn, I have to disagree with you. Lively is where it all started. Lively coached Wilkes for two years. He acts no different now than he did as a freshman. Who do you think Houghton learned from. In my opinion, it all starts with Lively.
  12. Did grundy play tyner today? if not, will they play monday?
