Has Sevier County earned any respect yet?

They are not an easy pushover this year by no means. Opening day, they started with the number 38th team in the nation BEARDEN. Sevier Co. senior goalkeeper played the game of his life by stopping 19 Bearden shots on his way to a shutout. Bearden is one of the most respected teams in all of Tennessee but they were held goalless by a rejuvenated Sevier Co. with 12 seniors and something to prove this year in the toughest district in teh state. If tying 0-0 with the 38th team in the nation will not gain Sevier Co. any respect, then nothing will. thumb

If I remember correctly, the shot count wasn't too bad either... something like 17-12 in Bearden's favor. So, Sevierville wasn't just in a defensive huddle. (This is an assumption on stats only, I was not at the game)

Congrats. You guys gained some respect. Let's see what happens with Maryville and hopefully this isn't a "one hit wonder". Good job either way.

Sevier County is ok i guess but they are not going to match up as well to teams like Farragut, McMinn, and Maryville. They play Maryville on the 24 of this month at Maryville. So i encourage some of u to come watch. I do think that on thursday they will be out to prove themselves and it is quite possible that they could beat Maryville, but that is still to be determined. Still we must give respect to them for their tie to Bearden. But i really dont see how Bearden is that highly ranked in the nation. Where are the rankings listed?

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
