the choctaws made the most mistakes and one costly penalty. the rebels indeed stopped the choctaw running game. they keyed on andre all night long. it was like they knew he was gonna get the ball.

congrats to the rebels, that was a good win for the program, i want to commend the coaching staff of central. they all singled my son out after the game and shook his hand and etc... (josh transferd last season to dyer county from central) the coaches told me they are very proud of him.

that was a great catch and run there at the end of the game seems as if he pulled the rebel defense at least 20 yards before they finally pulled him down at the two yard line.

maybe now the coaches at dyer county will figure out a way to get him the ball.

good luck to the rebels the rest of the season.

Dawg198,

This one was about like we thought it would be ,Dyer Counties defense was alot better than any defense we have played against this year,Nice catch and run at the end for Josh tell him I am proud for and of him, he will still always be an old Lake Road Boy! See you at work on Tuesday for a little break room coaching.

Congrats to the Rebels on a big Region win last night. This team has just needed something good to happen, and last night they made it happen. Much better job on defense. The win not only gave the Rebs their first win of the season, but also evened up their record in the Region. It was a good game to watch, as I thought both teams got after it, a very hard hitting game. Again GREAT job Rebs, now I guess we can start to look toward UC coming to Troy on Friday.

GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Anyone know how the scrimmage at Central went?
    • I grew up watching Greene Devil Football since I could walk and still close with a lot of the coaches so should know my history pretty well lol.  Everything worked out the way it should have but firmly believe McCurry would have won some State Title if he wouldn't been let go (Greeneville still runs the same D he brought here and he let Ballard run the O and stayed out of it when it came to calling plays.  Greeneville was put out in the Semi's McCurry's last year against Maryville and the next year Greeneville stayed in 4a and was State Runner up playing were they were placed for the first time by the TSSAA.). It was definitely a McCurry and Ballard show that turned everything around along with the Community buying in and revamping the weight room and field house. Since Ballard got promoted to HC every Coach after him has been within the Greeneville Coaching staff because your right, they know what it takes to win a state championship.  Ballard was a master mine on O and what i think Greeneville has lacked since he left and let some Championships or making it to the Championship slip away over the last few years
    • Sounds like you know your area history well. Going back and looking the records were better than I thought but mostly still beating Upper East TN schools. Ballard sounds like he came/was promoted at the right time.    I do think it’s no coincidence that them keeping the HCs as guys who were former guys on the staff. Too many times schools want a “state championship” leveled coach from the outside but they don’t know the landscape. Promoting from within will help with less turnover and keep the program consistent.
