  1. You are so right! Both Wright and Goodman could/should have been a finalist. Both players are difference makers. Why? I have my thoughts, and I bet others do as well. GO LADY REBELS!!!!
  2. FB...That is a REAL GOOD QUESTION.
  3. Two teams who are both solid, both can play, and play well. CPA has looked good in both games, as has OC. The Lady Rebels have put themselves where they wanted to be, and I don't look for them to let this one slip away. In a great game, I see OC getting the win, and bringing the Gold Ball back to Troy, and Central Station. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!
  4. Obion Co vs C.P.A. AA State Final. This should be a great game between two very sound ball clubs. CPA has looked good in winning both their games going away. OC has looked settled, and confident. Wright and Goodman have played as expected, both scoring well. Hicks, McEwen, Jennings, Wiggins, and Flippen have all played really well. This game could be a classic. I'll take OC in a close one. Looking for a HUGE crowd there tomorrow as Rebel Nation invades MTSU GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!
  5. You are so right, at this point all teams are good. Stone Memorial and OC both are in the semis of the AA state, that says alot. It is not that I give the Lady Panthers no chance, as talk on here does not play the game. I do feel that if OC can set the tempo, it could be tough for Stone Mem. But trust me, NO ONE is overlookinig them. Here is looking for a good game from two great teams. No point spread here, but I do believe OC wins this one.
  6. Obion Co Central will take on Stone Memorial in one of the semi-finals at the 'boro. OC comes in off a solid effort against a very good McMinn Central team, and Stone Memorial after a low scoring win over Waverly. This could be an interesting one, as Stone Memorial seems to feed off it's D, and OC has been scoring in the 60-70 range most of the tournament season. Both teams are good, and this should be a good one. If OC can play the tempo it wants to, it could be a long day for Stone Mem. Looking for another solid effort from OC, as Wright, Goodman, Hicks, Jennings, McEwen, Wiggins and Flippen all played well yesterday, and a spot in the finals for Obion Co. Let's hear it, what do you think?? GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Congrats to the Lady Rebels as they defeat defending AA state Champ, McMinn Central 69-60. OC will now play at 11:30 Friday vs Stone Memorial. Congrats also to a good McMinn Central team on a great season. OC got good play from everyone on the floor today, Goodman and Wright both battled foul trouble, but still led the way. Goodman and Wright finished with 21 pts each, Goodman with 13 rebounds, Hicks with 11pts, McEwen with 10 pts, and Jennings, and Wiggins each had 3 pts. A solid team effort! OC plays Friday, and hope to see you there!! Let's see how many OC fans we can get in the "Glass House"! Good luck to Union City, and Lake Co. tomorrow. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!
  8. GC, I had planned to do this but always seemed to be short on time. OC and Oakhaven, the Lady Rebs host a sub-state game for the first time in a long time, and I think their fans will leave Central Station HAPPY, and rushing to book a room in the 'Boro. I really think you are about right on your prediction. OC then can start looking at their 1st round State game. But first things first, I see a HUGE crowd, and a fired up bunch of Lady Rebels, and OC's 33 win on the season. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!
  9. VOREBS

    Best arms in AA?

Colton Woodward at Obion Co Central is one to watch.
  10. Well, that about says it all! Do think this will be a good one, but really look for OC to pull away at the end. And redbirdfan, you had better hope we play in Troy, because if we have to drive to Memphis, I am thinking it may be a "singing" trip. Now to the "Batcave"! and as always...... GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Obion Co Central and Covington move on to the 7AA final, which sets up OC/Covington IV. OC got good play from everyone last night, Goodman with 25, Wright with 24, led OC which got great play from Jennings, Hicks, McEwen and Wiggins. Just a great effort by all the Lady Rebs. OC vs Covington again will be a war. the three games this season between these two have been decided by 5 total points. Should be a good one in D'burg. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!
  12. Well, we move back to Dyersburg. With the 13AA sweep, teams that know each other very well will battle Monday night. Westview vs Covington will likely be a contrast of tempo again, and then OC takes on Dyersburg on their home floor. Should be a very interesting night of basketball, 4 good teams, looking for two good games. Who wins? In two close games, I say Covington and OC will come out on top, and then OC/Covington IV.
  13. Reg. 7AA First Round games should be interesting. OC hosts Chester Co., Lexington hosts Dyersburg, Covington hosts McNairy Co., Boliver hosts Westview. So what do you think? This should be fun to watch. GO LADY REBELS!!!!!
  14. Well I said the Rebs had to avoid giving up big plays, they did not, and OC gets it's first loss of the season. Covington is a solid team, which runs the ball really well, which is no surprize. OC must tend to the next two games, and put them the best position for the play-offs. OC is still a GOOD football team, lot of things made last night different from the rest of the season, main one, the head Coach was not there much due to illness. OC will be fine! GO REBELS!!!! oh and the comment about the baseball team, we will see next spring.
  15. Covington by 20......really?? I don't see that. Oh well, enough on that. It is GAMEDAY. #5 Covington vs #3 Obion Co. It has been talked about for some time, how this looks to be a good one. Two GOOD football teams, with very different styles. OC 's D will be tested by a solid rushing attack from the Chargers. The Rebel D, which has got better it seems each week, needs to be solid, and avoid giving up big plays. The numbers OC has put up on offense have been pretty amazing, as they have scored in bunches. Turnovers, or lack there of and special teams I think will play a big part in this one. Covington by 20????? Here's a hunch.....OC by at least a couple of touchdowns. Side note: If you are coming to the game, come early, it will be a "Packed house" And remember to support the OCCHS Baseball team, as they are having a Fish dinner, prior to the game. 6 bucks a ticket. Come early and get a meal, and then get ready for what should be a very interesting night at Rebel Field. GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Friday night, Covington comes to Troy for a big matchup with Obion Co Central. Both teams are ranked in the polls, and alot of people have had this game circled on the schedule for most or all of the season. Covington is 7-1, while the Rebs, fresh off a bye week are 7-0. Two good football teams, lots of athletes on both sides. Think this will be a good one, but in the end, look for OC to move to 8-0. So...who you got? GO REBELS!!!! Side note; Come early, as the OC Baseball team will be having a Fish dinner, prior to the game. tickets will be available at the door. All proceeds go to the Rebels baseball team. and again....... GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. OC does have a kicker, McGrew, who has hit on I think 20 of 22 extra points, and has kicked I think 3 FGs all about 25 yards, with plenty of distance. So YES the Rebs do have a kicker, a pretty good one. But somoetimes they go for the 2pt conversion, last I checked that was the Coach's call. Don't see the big deal. As for the on-side kicks, if you see something the other team is doing, and want to try it, again I think that is the Coach's call....just sayin' Now a bye week, and then on the 14th, Covington comes to Troy for what should be a good one. Looking for a HUGE crowd, the OC Baseball team will be serving Fish and all the trimmings, $6 tickets are available from baseball players, or at the door. Serving starts at 5:30. So come early, get a good meal, help out the baseball team, and then settle in and watch OC sqaure off with the Chargers of Covington. GO REBELS!!!!!
  18. Anyone who overlooks anyone at this stage of the season, really needs to look at things again. OC is NOT going to overlook Montgomery Central, which from what I see is a good football team. No one has said OC is unbeatable, just that they are playing well. Coach Jackson and his crew will be looking at MC and no one else. Now, after a long trip, and what I think will be a pretty good game, I look for OC to have a happy trip home, with a "W".Then and only then will OC begin to think of South Gibson. It's all about who is next, and right now that is Montgomery Central. GO REBELS!!!!!!!!
  19. Crocket Co at OC...Should be another Packed house at Troy. OC last week did the work, and beat a good Westview team, and now look to continue their solid play vs CC. The Cavs come in off a win last week, but will find a Rebel team that is playing very well. OC must stay focused, and I think they will, and pick up win #4 on the season, in a BIG way. GO REBELS!!!!!!!!
  20. OC makes the trip down 51 to open District play with Ripley in a game that is a BIG week 2 game for the Rebels. OC looked good last week in the win over UC, a game most had Central picked to win. This week, look for the Rebs strike early, and I think often. Ripley is always tough at home, but when it is all said and done, look for the Rebs to be 2-0, with the 'View up next. GO REBELS!!!!!
  21. The Rebel Train at Obion Co. Central is a great student section. A different "theme" everynight. Loud, and do a great job. Have seen several good student sections around the area, "The Rebel Train" is one of the best.
  22. Whatever.......you know, Ripley does have alot of athletes, no doubt, but OC has athletes, who do what the game plan calls for, and if you think they are non athletes, well, not really worth the effort. OC will have to contain the athletes from Ripley on "D", and they did a good job of that last week. Ripley never really looked like they could stop OC's offense, and will a week change that very much, I doubt it. P&G, you are right, they can't cover #17 with a LB, if they try, BIG NIGHT for Weaks. Looking for an OC WIN Friday night!! GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. OC/RipleyII........ I am not sure if this is what everyone had in mind with the "new" playoff system, but OC fresh off a solid win over Ripley, begins the playoffs at.......Ripley. Oh well, I have heard some talking about not wanting to play the same team two weeks in a row, and while I somewhat agree with that, I think OC will be fine. I have heard talk about Ripley having film of last weeks game to prep for this week, and that too is true, but you know, OC has film of the same game, and I am interested to see what Coach Jackson and his staff do with that film in reguards to this weeks match-up. This is a good Riley ball club, and we all know that, but to be honest, OC is a very good bunch themselves. OC has improved all year, and are night and day better than they were when they played...oh say Crockett earlier in the season. OC must bring the "A" game, not only Friday, but every game from here on out. The football program at OC has been up and down, mostly down for many, many years, but this group, and these coaches seem to have really turned a corner. Attitude is a key, and the attitude at OC has changed, which having been in the press box for alot of years, has been so much fun to watch happen. Here is to seeing a HUGE part of Rebelnation in Ripley Friday night, and to a Rebel WIN!! GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Well, after all the back and forth, it's OC vs Ripley II. This time at Ripley. OC did play very well against the Tigers on Thurs. and will need to play that well again this Friday night to move on. This sets up an interesting match-up, seeing as the two played a week earlier. Ripley did have problems stopping OC's offense, so they do indeed have work to do. OC did a good job on "D", and need to again. Can't think about Crockett, or anyone else this week, which I know Coach Jackson and his staff will take care. I look for the Rebs to be primed and focused when they make the trip south to Tigerland, and when it is all said and done, OC will have to start prep work for Week 12. Don't think it will be 44-15 again, but I do think it will again be a Rebel Victory!!! GO REBELS!!!!!!
  25. SOLID Game from the Rebs!! The Offense was ON, big night for Fair, and a big night for Mr Weaks as well. Phipps continues to throw the ball well, and Cary, Mcgrew and Ward all had solid nights. And a great job by the "O" line. This bunch can play. And the Defense is playing WELL. So now, the Rebs will play in Week 11, and I for one am real interested in seeing what they do with it. Looking for BIG things next week, like a week 11 WIN!! GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!
