In a duel between pitchers, Centennial defeated Brentwood 1-0 when Sarah Marlin singled in Adair Hewett with the winning run in the bottom of the 7th. Centennial now will face the winner of Tuesdays game between Brentwood and Ravenwood on Wednesday and will advance to the Regional Tournament.

I will say that I witnessed a great game between 2 pretty good pitchers. Both Morgan & Bailie pitched GREAT GAMES and both deserved to win the game. CHS just came away with the Big Play at the end of the game & deserved the win. Both teams are really good & should continue to play next week at Region if BHS can get by RAvenwood, which is another good team.

MORGAN looked pretty good & probably will lead CHS back to STATE for 2nd time this year. Best Wishes to both teams-

WOW! Any details?

What an enyoyable game to watch! In a game with a very small strike zone for all 3 pitchers, the bats came alive for both teams with Centennial collecting 12 hits and Brentwood 10. Centennial jumped out on Brentwood 4-0 before Brentwood slowly chipped away with good hitting and eventually took the lead 5-4 after 6 innings. The Cougars bounced back in the bottom of the 7th and tied the game on an RBI single and had the bases loaded with no outs but were unable to push the winning run across. In the bottom of the 8th the Cougars got a triple, a hit batsman and an infield single to load the bases again with less than 2 outs and were again unable to push across the winning run. The Bruins scored a runner from 3rd in the top of the 9th after an infield error on a usually routine play and the Cougars went out 1,2,3 in the bottom of the 9th as Brentwood won the title. A heck of a game played by 2 good teams. In the 5 games played between the 2 teams this season the combined score is 10-10. Barring an upset on Monday, look for these 2 teams to play for the region title on Wednesday. Good luck to both.

    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
