Yeah Cookeville will be much improved this year. Although the bates kid was a force and took up alot of space, the running game will be improved and will improve as the season progresses. If Cookeville can work on a few linemen (offense and defense) positions then I say they will be a force and not only in region 3.

Who do you like as your other top quarterback? I like Shelton from Lincoln County. He is pretty mobile and a competitor. I am just not sure if he has any explosive backs or receivers to get the ball to.

  • 1 month later...

I'm excited about the upcoming season...I think they have the potential to go deep into the playoffs.

Course right now that's all it is...potential.

Obviously Coach J thinks they're gonna be strong...Have you seen their out of region schedule for this fall??!! /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />

We lost a tough opponent in Ooltewah, first off.I hate that too, wish we could have continued that series. They're a classy program & there was a lot of mutual respect on both sides!

But who did we replace Ooltewah with...? We get to travel TO Knox. Central to open the season!

Week 6 we go TO Cleveland, who will probably be very good!

Oh yeah then the next week Memphis University School comes to Cookeville! They'll fly in on the team jet or something! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Can't wait till this fall! Will definitely be interesting!

Your region should be more competitive than last yr. You guys have a great chance on winning the region. Good luck.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
