why do people keep coming on here and sayin this year is the best team south has put on the field in years? if anyone was around on fridays last season they would know without a doubt that 06...the rebels of 06 were the best group of athletes to ever be fielded by the rebels...even more than the 1993 team that went to the semifinals...is it the lack of leadership that everyone talks about that makes them not as well rounded as this years team? it has to be because their is absolutely no way any south fan can say they have more athletes in 07 than they did last fall...

Obviously 06 was a great team! I haven't seen anyone post otherwise. To say that they were the best team South has ever fielded, no way! Anyone who has worked out in the weight room has seen the pictures of those who have passed before and know that South has fielded a lot of talent! Instead of dwelling on which team is better than that one, let's look at it this way (and if you haven't learned this yet you must be very young) there is always going to be someone smarter, richer, better looking, more talented, luckier, than you. If the 07 team is a stronger South team than ever they will prove it on the field just like the other teams have had the opportunity to do. Since you commented about leadership I will respond, yes the 07 team has leadership. It is the leadership of the senior class that has strengthened the team as a whole. Because of their example, (undefeated as Freshman, and having lost only 2 regular season games both of which were non-conference) the senior class bring to the field a sense of confidence, pride, and dedication to the game. In fact, if you have read some of the testimonies of the some of the team captains you will see that they are also a determined bunch! Some have worked very hard to have a chance on that field. The underclassmen seem to respect this and they too demonstrate pride in the team, and a lot of class on the field. On the whole if you, my friend, ever have the opportunity to see the teamwork and leadership of not only the team captains, but the junior class leadership, and sophomore leaders you would detect a difference in the attitude of this team. They are strong, talented, and have already proven their ability to anihilate a 5 A school. Let's sit back, enjoy/participate in the ride as this team has its' opportunity for a 3 peat, and GO REBELS!!!
