We're getting down to the nittygritty folks. What's your opinion of who is going to the playoffs and who is sitting home in this region and which order? For those of you that don't know which teams they are in no particular order, DeKalb County, Macon County, Station Camp, Greenbrier, Pearl Cohn, Sycamore and White House.

The top three teams will be White House, Station Camp, & Pearl Cohn. The order of finish between those three teams will be decided in three of the next four weeks when those three powerhouses start to beat up on one another. Only two of the three will host opening round games in the playoffs but I like all of their chances of making some noise in November. The game this week should be a slobber-knocker between White House and Pearl Cohn. Since Station Camp did not lose a non-region game they are going to hold any advantage if this thing winds up in a 3-WAY tiebreaker scenario. In that case the second two would be decided by their head-to-head meetings with one another so pretty much White House's & Pearl Cohn's non-region resumes are irrelevant as far as winning the region title is concerned.

 

The final playoff spot will be decided in the upcoming three weeks. The teams in this hunt are Greenbrier, Sycamore, & Macon Co. There will only be one that goes to the playoffs to play at Chattanooga Howard to open the postseason. Greenbrier has got to be the favorite right now but they can't overlook Sycamore who's looking for that one "breakthrough performance" and this week's game could be it. Macon Co. is struggling but they could right the ship in the next two weeks to come if they could beat both of these teams. In a 3-WAY tiebreaker scenario it would be Sycamore that goes to the playoffs. Macon Co. has lost all but one of their non-region games and Greenbrier lost a non-region game to David Lipscomb. Sycamore went unbeaten in non-region play (THOUGH THEY STILL DO HAVE HARPETH AT SEASON'S END).

Those three are all but a lock to be in the postseason. The 4th place spot is a toss up, but I think Greenbrier will end up getting it, since the other teams in the region aren't doing so well. Due to them having an off year, Sycamore, still rebuilding, Macon Co., or just aren't at the point yet, DeKalb Co.
