KY vs TN track...wow.

Kentucky isn't know as a track state, Tennessee has not only the best collegiate track team, but also great highschool teams. Kentucky really doesn't care all too much for track, after all it almost interferes with basketball. Not only that, but Kentucky beats Tennessee in the highschool all star football game every year, but that really doesn't matter all that much because in college Tennessee beats Kentucky every year. My point is who cares who is the better state, that is one year out of many and maybe Kentucky has been better every year except this one!? It really doesn't matter all too much, just let the kids run!

Well, obviously I care or I wouldn't have made the post. And it is not a one-time scenario, Tennessee has consistently posted better overall track times. You may be right that track is not as high of a priority in the bluegrass. But there are a number of people who care (several of which have discussed it with me), and it affects anybody who competes against them on a regular basis (which you don't). It may further be a major point of emphasis in the near future as Tennessee may decide to adopt a preliminary format and take twice as many people to state, as Kentucky does. I think that would affect a LOT of people. As I said previously, it was done completely for comparative purposes for those who were interested. That's all.

Just for the record, in the KY/TENN all-star football game, in the 19 games played, Kentucky has won 5 and Tennessee has won 14. This doesn't indicate to me that KY wins the game every year. In fact, it's pretty rare that they do win (even though they did win this year's game). I believe that Kenwoodrun has the facts correct in that Tennessee track athletes routinely have better performances than their counterparts in KY. There can be multiple explanations for this disparity but it does exist.

    • Wow I haven't been keeping up with softball had no idea.Been keeping up with baseball and we are slowly fading there.I will check it out!!Thx
    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
