He will be a game time decision. What does anyone think about the cold weather tonight? I thnk it will have more impact on the spread offense. GP's smash mouth offense isn't nearly as affected by weather. anyway.... 6 more hours to kickoff. Can't wait. Go GP.

I can't wait till game time, the excitement of watching Adam dominate G-P tonigh--Good Luck Adam from your Best Buddy Justin, we'll be pulling for you to win tonight. #1 Fan at the gap

Wow to keep any rumors from getting started or listening to anymore Cumberland Gap fans that think he should be or is playing. He will not be. It's very serious staph infection, had surgery today i just left the hospital earlier, he has to have another minor surgery friday. For those who dont know Pittser is the leading scorer in east tennessee and a great football player. GP younger players HAVE to step up and will step up. They also lost there team leader in tackles to a bad shoulder injury in a car accident. Rough times for Gatlinburg Pittman remeber those guys in your prayers and i would love to see them come out and play with a lot of heart friday.

GO HIGHLANDERS!

First of all, I am Pittser's sister. His staph infection is quite serious, he did have surgery this morning. It did not go well at all. He is going in again tomorrow morning, not sure of the time yet, but he is going to have another surgery, making this the third this week. I just want everyone to know that we are thankful for your thoughts and prayers. I would also like everyone to know that this is only high school football and to please remember that there are worse things in this world than someone losing tonight. So please, play safe and remember my brother in your prayers. Good luck to both teams tonight as they battle it out on the field.

Let P know that our hearts and prayers are with him. Maybe the boys can win one for him. Have had staph myself, as well as, had a former ball player that missed the last 2 games of his senior year cause of staph. Tell him to hang in there.

I agree, way to go boys. I just got home from the hospital now. Matthew is doing okay. He is trying to rest, but it is hard. His surgery is at 9:30 am. We were so excited to hear of the win tonight, Matt made sure we had the news on to watch Friday Night Hits so he could watch high lights from the game. He is rooting for the boys next week against Alcoa, that is going to be a tough game. Alcoa beat us back in 06, Matt's freshman year, during the first round of playoffs, I believe it was 91 to 7. Ugh... Anyway, hoprfully we will play hard and have heart and no matter what happens, happens. Good luck GP we are all rooting for you. And congratulations tonight Highlanders.

I just wanted to tell both teams great game. It was one for the ages. The best I've seen in a long time. Good luck GP vs alcoa. I hope you guys can do the improbable. To my boys from CG, great season. 10 wins and getting to the 2nd round is a huge milestone for you all. Hopefully the program is about to turn the corner and become one of the elite. Great job seniors, you all have set the bar high for everyone to come. Underclassmen, get in the weight room and work hard. Don't let this be a one year wonder!!! I hope this rivalry continues to blossom from here on out. Maybe CG gained a little respect from GP this time around. Great year both of you.

I wish CG had drawn a region 2 team they would have won also, then met GP 2nd round. Great game for both could have went either way. I think it just ment more for GP, maybe the football spirits helped, pick up a fumble for TD that changed the game, who knows. Anyway why not pick GP in a upset.

Nice post. Missed the first game because I was out of town. Couldn't wait for rematch. Ended sick and missed as well. Understand I missed two good ball games. Maybe if GP and CG continue to win playoff games then finally Region 2 will give us some respect. Alcoa excluded, I believe both teams were as good as the other teams in Region 2. (Probably a mistake to say once the region 2 posters read. But everyone else voices their opinion.) Congrats on a great season. By the way, CG had GP's respect before that game.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
