Over the past 3 years there has been 2 strong "travel" teams out of East Tennessee. The Junior Toppers out of Johnson City and the East Tennessee Select out of Kingsport. Both teams have faired very well both in state and on the national level. These teams had kids from the Science Hill, Tennessee High, Daniel Boone, DB, Greenville and South school districts. Most of them are freshmen this year at their local high schools. I would expect to see several of these guys get some playing time this spring.

 

Three strong left handed pitchers out of these teams one at Science Hill who is one heck of a centerfielder as well, one at Boone and one at DB.

A very good 3rd baseman and pitcher at Tennessee High, couple of good catchers in the group and a couple of good infielders. The group includes some good hitters too!

 

It should be a good year for several freshmen this year.

I agree. I think there will be several young arms that will make a difference. Those two teams will impact Northeast Tennessee this year.

Norris at Science Hill will be a great left hander and may find some time in the outfield.

Connell at Daniel Boone should find time on the mound as a lefty also and may find time at first or outfield.

Millsap and Lockhart have great gloves and arms as catchers at DB and South. Don't know what is in front of them but they look good.

There will be several at Crockett that should get some playing time as freshmen.

The Jr. Toppers and the Select and now the FCA Tigers which several of them play for will help the teams in Northeast Tennessee.

Volunteer has a great group of Juniors that will for sure make some noise in the Big 9 so watch out for them. Also look out for Science Hill obviously, DB should be down but never out of course and Crockett along with Volunteer will be a sleeper in the Big 9. Im not real sure who has what in the Watauga or the IMAC. Good luck to everyone this season

Kingsport Select out of the boy's club have been around for some years now.Several players on DB's bb team this year played for the Select.Including the catcher Harvey, ss/p Crawford,2b J.Trent,Pitchers M Chase,M.Osborne,D.McConnell so they have been traveling around a while.Most are juniors.
