In the consolation or 3rd place game, as I would rather call it, Lewis Co. came back from trailing most of the game to outscore Giles Co. 15-6 in the 4th qtr to take the win. Micah Anderson led the Lady Panthers with 11 pts that included 7 of 8 FT's and C. C. Tibbs had 10 pts with good support from Jessica Hinson and Taylor McKinney with 8 pts each. Giles Co. was led by Vee Young who had 18 pts, 13 rebs, 1 asst, and 2 blocks along with Marqueissa Davidson with 13 pts, 10 rebs, and 2 assts. Lewis Co. shot well from the line with 19 of 29 FT's that included 9 of 12 in the 4th qtr while Giles only hit 4 of 9 for the game and missed their only 2 FT's in the 2nd half. Turnovers were also a factor as Lewis had only 9 while Giles had 21 with 14 in the 2nd half.

Giles Co. led at the end of the 1st qtr, 14-12, as Davidson had 6, Young had 4, and Garrett had 2 while Lewis Co.'s Jessica Hinson hit a three, Anderson hit 2 of 2 FT's, Tibbs, Beasley, and Hill each had 2, and Jacie Hinson hit 1 of 2 FT's.

 

In the 2nd qtr, GC outscored LC, 16-12, as Young had 8, Garrett had 4, Wisener hit 2 of 3 FT's, and both Davidson and Wall each hit 1 of 2 FT'a while LC's McKinney had 6, Helton hit a three, and Jessica Hinson, Hill, and Anderson each hit 1 of 2 FT's as GC led at the half, 30-24.

 

In the 3rd qtr, Lewis Co. started their comeback as they outscored GC, 17-13, as Anderson had 4 (2 of 2 FT's), Clayton hit a three, both Jessica Hinson and Beasley each had 2, Bryant hit 2 of 2 FT's, Tibbs had 2 (0 of 1 FT's), and McKinney had 2 (0 of 2 FT's) while GC's Young had 4, Davidson had 4 (0 of 2 FT's), Wall hit a three, and Wisener had 2 as GC led by only 2 pts after 3 qtrs, 43-41.

 

In the 4th qtr, LC outscored GC, 15-6, as Tibbs had 6 (4 of 6 FT's), Anderson had 4 (2 of 2 FT's), Jacie Hinson had 3 (1 of 2 FT's), and Jessica Hinson had 2 (2 of 2 FT's) while GC's Young, Davidson, and Garrett each had 2 as Lewis Co. won the 3rd place game in the District 10-AA Tournament, 56-49.

 

In regards to the fouls and free throws, Giles Co. had 2 technical fouls - 1 on Vee Young for taunting after her block in the 1st qtr, I believe, and Wisener had the other one in the 4th qtr for using bad language. This gave Lewis Co. 4 extra FT attempts than they nornally would have had, but there was still a lot of difference between the number of attempts for each team. The play was aggressive all night so maybe that's just the way it came out and I'll make no other comments on the officiating, but maybe others will.
