SOUTHERN CHAMPIONS WRESTLING CAMP

 

For Fourteen years, SCWC has offered the best instruction to Tennessee wrestlers and this year is no exception. We will again hold camps in Knoxville, Memphis, and Nashville. We don't bring big name college coaches, but we have some of the best high school coaches in the state. Add spirited competition and an inexpensive price to the amazing instruction. Though not all coaches are at each camp, lead instructors are Frank Simpson, Pat Simpson, Walt Holmes, Steve Henry, Steve Shone, Brian Dunning.

 

Phillip Simpson, former NCAA finalist and current member of the United States Army Wrestling Team, will join us as Special Instructor.

 

Camp cost includes instruction, coaching, lunch each day, and a camp T-shirt. $115 per wrestler for pre-registration ($125 per wrestler for day-of-registration). Enrollment is limited and for wrestlers entering the 8th through 12th grade in the fall of 2007

We just completed a very successful Nashville Camp. On the last day, one wrestler stated that it was the best camp he had been to and another wrestler commented that this was his third SCWC and it was the best yet. Thanks to the great coaches and the enthusiatic kids for making it a great one.

 

We are now ready for the Knoxville Camp on June 9, 10, 11 at Knoxville Catholic High School (Contact Don Beardsley at 865-579-1579) and the Memphis Camp on June 16, 17, 18 at Houston High School (Contact Walt Holmes at 901-382-1839).

The SCWC is pleased to welcome Phillip Simpson as a one-day instructor at the camp to be held next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at Houston High School in Germantown. This weekend, Mr. Simpson will be at the Olympic Trials in Las Vegas as he tries out for a spot on the USA Olympic team that will compete in China in August.

 

Lead instructors will also include Frank Simpson, Steve Shone, Walt Holmes, Tony Bradley, and Jonathon Simpson.

 

In addition to superb instruction and enthusiastic match competition, wrestlers have a chance at an amazing gift. As in the previous two Southern Champions Wrestling Camps this summer, one wrestler will win a home wrestling mat complements of Dollamur Sports Surfaces. Also, D1 Sports Training and Therapy will provide a free one-week pass to all camp wrestlers.
