USA Wrestling National Duals Teams

I have a 95-100 lb that is very interested but he is born in 1997. Don't know if that is too young. He has done well on the national level.

Thanks,

Bill

1997 makes your son a Novice, and on the young side of the novice division at that (novice is 1996-1997). That would make them ineligible for the Schoolboy team as there is no wrestling up allowed. There is no national duals at the novice level so TWF obviously is not attempting to put together a team.

Ryan is a very good wrestler! Nick is at 105-107. Bring Ryan to Karns on Mon. or Thurs. 7:00 to 8:00 pm. Can't wait to see Ryan in High School.

Just a quick bump up because the DEALINE IS TODAY!

We may be looking at exending registration for a couple of teams into next week.

The schoolboy duals team registration and fee are not due until May 15th so that leaves us some time to work for them. We already have a few signed up and deposits in so if you are interested in represented TN then get in touch with us soon.

However, the cadet and junior duals teams must be registered by May 1st, so if you are interested in being on either team contact us ASAP. The Cadet team loks to be finding good competition to be on it in most weights but we still have a few spots nobody has expressed interest in. The junior team is looking a little bare and if we don't get firm commitments soon we may not be able to send a team. I know some of the UTC recruits may be asked to aprticipate by the coaching staff.

See contact e-mails in the first post.

Could you post the team rosters. What spots are open and on what team? /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

Just a quick bump as we are still looking for a few more kids for both the Junior Duals team and the Schoolboy Duals team. We need to get firm commitments from a few more kids for each team before we can register the team. We will fill any other spots we are missing from there so get in contact with us ASAP (all registrations for the teams due by end of the week). Contact information is in the first post.

We have passed the minimum number of registrants for the Cadet team and that team is confirmed and the registration fees have been sent in. You can still be on the Cadet team by sending in your deposit and then winning the spot.

Spots are still not decided for any of the teams as results from the state tournament, Best of the Best (Cadet and Junior only), and other events will be the determining factor. Remember that if you are not chosen to be on the team then your deposit is refunded!

    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
    • Maybe OR will be, but Farragut, nah, I don’t think anybody realizes how much of a bad situation that program is in currently. I’m sure they will build out of it, but the next 3 to 4 years are going to be a long climb up.
    • Thats one of the problems of having an 8-team region. A team could make it in any other region, but the numbers work against them in this one.
