CBHS - 1

Farragut - 1

Farragut scored on a PK in the first half and led 1-0 at the half. CBHS tied it up in the second half and had several chances to put it away but couldn't convert. First half fairly even. CBHS controlled the second half.

Time for Panera Bread and then hopefully give JPII a good game at 4:00.

Yes, JPII has played well this week, but have you told anyone exactly how close that Father Ryan game was?? It was much closer than the 3 to 1 score shows. An unfortunate and stupid foul gave your precious Knights a pk with very few minutes left in the game. Father Ryan was just unable to capitalize and came VERY close NUMEROUS times. FRHS played horrible yet still kept it extremely close. It also sounds like Farragut gave you a run for your money too. It's only a matter of time. Don't get to full of yourselves.

Who cares, JPII got the W. Give them the credit they deserve.

Let me guess, you're a Father Ryan fan? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

Let me guess you are a JPII fan. What you don't say in your post is how Farragut pretty much dominated the game between JPII and JPII were losing 1-0 with 13 minutes to go. What you don't say is who controlled play in that game and it was Farragut , NOT JPII and you were there on the field so you know. You played Farragut Tough and they did not recover against CBHS and you JPII benefited because it was such a physical game between CBHS and Farragut , CBHS was to tired to play a fresh JPII back to back..,. Lucky for you, you will never see Farragut again but unlucky for you CBHS will be fresh next time you play them and you will see a different result. I am sure you will get on here and blast my comments but for all of you areound the state KNight and Nick have slanted JPII views since they play there, I will give you credit for a very good team but let either of these teams play you at their home with JPII the traveler, and you have to play them playing back to back games, you might not be so cocky then, different results for sure.......that being said you can crow because you did win and the real time to grow is when they hand you the champion trophy.....Will you be there then??? Don't answer just prove me wrong

Just because knighttime goes to JP2 and is biased towards them doesn't make it fair for you to bash him. People are biased on here all the time. JP2 played 320 minutes of high-school soccer in 6 days and they came out 4-0 against some really good teams. How can you not come off a week like that and not have a chip on your shoulder.

You my friend are Dead --- Wrong. I have not been cocky. Sorry you feel that way. Do not answer, I do not play

for this team. The time to grow...give me a break. I never intended my posts to insight such a hostile response. I wish you the best.

Don't have anything to do with either of these teams on this thread...but it is very impressive what jp2 has done. No disrespect meant here but I don't remember jp2 even being at state last year. I may be wrong...but how in the world did this team improve so much this year....new players. Curious and congratulations on the weekend.

Understand....I guess everyone knows father ryan hs...Jp2 has not lost to FRHS in the last 3 years, two ties and win. Not a knock on FRHS, but this is not a one hit-wonder.

Incredible run for jp2. Should really help them playing such tough competition going into the playoffs. Congratulations to them.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
