    D-2 play offs

I'm pretty sure the semis will look like this. CBHS vs. JP2 McCallie vs. FRHS
  3. 1) Jordan Leedle Brentwood 2) Josh Phillips Father Ryan 3) James Holt Riverdale These will most likely be the three keepers announced in the Tennessean's All-Midstate, whenever it does come out.
  4. I really don't think Father Ryan has a strong chance in repeating. people spoke too early last year saying that Baylor would repeat as they only lost 3 starters. Those 3 starters turned out to be very critical. Father Ryan will lose 6 starters, very difficult to replace, and very tough to repeat in D2. I'll go ahead and say JP2 vs. CBHS final.
  5. Now, in my previous posts, i believe the biggest hack on Brentwood would be that i said that they weren't tested. Furthermore, I have yet to downplay thier perfect season. Like you said finishing a season with a perfect record is remarkable. Probably harder to achieve in AAA than in D-2. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> Flashback to 2005, the last time that both these teams won state, they played each other with Father Ryan winning the game. The fact that both these teams played each other in the regular season, only helped each with achieving a state championship game atmosphere during the season. The following season, Brentwood opted to play an easier schedule, and they did not find each other on their respective schedules. This hurt both teams as Brentwood lost in the quarterfinals, and Father Ryan in the semis. The same scenario happened in 2007, when again they didn't play each other. And again Father Ryan and Brentwood lost in the semis. After talking to some of Brentwood's players, I know that they realized that if the wanted another title they would have to schedule better teams in the regular season to prepare them for the end of May like they did in 2005. So this season, they approached Coach Purcell, and asked him to schedule Father Ryan. Now both scheduled to play a pre-season game and a regular season game this year, which were both unfortunately cancelled. I'm not saying that Brentwood didn't play anyone this season, not at all. I'm saying that they accomplished such a great feat because they were willing to play a tough schedule and have a blemish on their record, if it would hopefully in turn transfer to a State Championship at the end of May. This is a huge reason why both teams got their 2nd title in 4 years.
  6. Yeah that's the one, but i believe that Father Ryan one state that year. Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me. Note: The last three years that Father Ryan one state, so did Brentwood. 1998, 2005, and 2008. That's pretty weird. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
  7. I believe that AAA was down this year due to the fact that you saw teams in the state tournament that you haven't seen in years, or it was their first appearance. Nevertheless, Brentwood was never tested the whole year, maybe at best 60 minutes out of the 100 plus minutes that they played Houston. If they had played a very gritty Father Ryan team, i am sure that the Irish would have handled the Bruins pretty easily and given them their first loss. Following up the previous statement, i believe that D2-AA had the best, and most competitive teams throughout the state. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
  8. Semis in my book will be: Oak Ridge vs. Houston West vs. Brentwood - winner of this game will win state... /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> Agree or disagree?
  9. Hendersonville (13-5-3) (H) Oak Ridge (13-8-4) Houston (17-1-1) (H) Riverdale (16-3-1) Collierville (17-3-2) (H) Knoxville West (16-4) Cleveland (18-5) (H) Brentwood (21-0) All quarterfinal games for AAA will be played on Wednesday at Richard Siegel Soccer Complex.
  10. These Rankings are 3 weeks old, so their not really accurate.
  11. D2 Sub-State McCallie 5 St. Benedict's 2
  12. 1 Spring Valley Columbia SC 24-0-0 2 Blacksburg Blacksburg VA 14-0-0 3 Edmond Memorial Edmond OK 15-0-0 4 Bellarmine Prep Tacoma WA 13-0-0 5 Brentwood Brentwood TN 18-0-0 6 Thomas Dale Chester VA 13-0-0 7 Stone Bridge Ashburn VA 12-0-1 8 Father Ryan Nashville TN 13-1-2 9 Pope John Paul II Hendersonville TN 15-2-0 10 Farragut Knoxville TN 19-1-2 11 Herndon Herndon VA 12-1-1 12 Conway Conway AR 21-0-0 13 Thomas Jefferson Sci & Tech Alexandria VA 9-1-2 14 Lakeside Atlanta GA 20-1-1 15 Shorewood Shoreline WA 15-1-1 16 Valley W Des Moines IA 12-1-0 18 17 Christian Brothers Memphis TN 18-2-1 18 Houston Germantown TN 14-1-1 19 Deep Run Glen Allen VA 11-1-1 20 Cosby Midlothian VA 10-1-0 21 Bettendorf Bettendorf IA 11-0-0 22 Baylor School Chattanooga TN 11-2-2 23 McCallie School Chattanooga TN 12-1-1 24 Ankeny Senior Ankeny IA 11-1-0 25 Northwestern Rock Hill SC 21-2-0
  13. Wow... both AAA finalists have been ousted. Tough break for Farragut, but i'm happy for west, it's might be their time now. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
  14. If those 4 that you mentioned advance then the first semi would be Baylor vs. CBHS (rematch of the 2007 final) and McCallie vs. Father Ryan in the other semi.
  15. I think Baylor and McCallie are locks for the semis. CBHS will be looking to avenge their previous 3-0 loss to JP2, and the winner of that game will likely play Baylor in the semis. Then Father Ryan will play MBA for a third time in 3 weeks, and MBA are going to want to knock off probably the best playing team in D2 at this moment. Tell me if you agree or disagree. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
  16. I wonder how the JP2 vs CBHS rematch will turnout, i think that the Brothers will use their home-field to their advantage, not to mention their previous 3-0 loss to JP2 as another reason for revenge. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
  17. Father Ryan 3 Baylor 0 I don't think Baylor was ready to play. Very unlike their defense. Substate--- May 17 MBA @ Father Ryan McCallie @ St. Benedicts JP2 @ CBHS MUS @ Baylor Wish i could go to all of them!!!
  18. west farragut houston brentwood hendersonville riverdale collierville blackman
  19. Brentwood will win 2-0. End of story
  20. The third team, and 5th seed from the East/Middle will be decided tomorrow. BGA vs MBA The winner will then be the away team at sub-state. They will play the winner of the Baylor vs Father Ryan game. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
  21. Middle/East Region Championship @ Baylor times unknown Father Ryan vs Baylor 3rd/4th place game JP2 vs McCallie
  22. Not even close Final Brentwood 5 Independence 0
  23. Brentwood will win 1-0. That is with them coming in over-confident. If they play like they did in Bama then they'll win by at least three.
  24. I know they got their best player back who was forced to leave the school for a year. I know he plays for TNFC 91's also.
  25. Onthepitch: Just because knighttime goes to JP2 and is biased towards them doesn't make it fair for you to bash him. People are biased on here all the time. JP2 played 320 minutes of high-school soccer in 6 days and they came out 4-0 against some really good teams. How can you not come off a week like that and not have a chip on your shoulder.
