The weather has killed Siegel's fields this year not to mention over use and field problems. The park is treated like a golf course and not a soccer complex that is used every day. I understand that fields need to rest. I also know that the complex drainage system that is there was of no effect. The fields were built over concrete "CLAY" that was not worked properly. Then sod was placed on top where the roots went to the side rather than down. With these problems water all spring did not drain and would stay on the field for days (most of the time closing the park down). Word on the street is strides will be made this summer when the grass takes off and the park is closed. Just thought I would throw that out there.

 

I would also like to say that the nets on all of the fields were new nets (2-3 weeks old at most) I helped put them on. Refs should have checked for holes.

As I said, this was my first time to this complex and I was very impressed overall. I hope you all are able to address your drainage issues but, especially given the weather for the last 18 months, I thought the surfaces I saw were quite good. This complex sure beats anything East Tennessee has to offer.
