Five TN teams in the AAU Junior Olympics

The schedule for Preliminary Pool Play has beeen posted.

The Tennessee teams are:

Tennessee Connexion

Knoxville Yard Dogs

Knoxville Stars

Knoxville Thunder

Johnson City Fury

Games start on Wednesday, July 31st. With the 2002 National AAU Titles in the 17 & 18 Age group as well as the 2nd place teams all from Tennessee. It sure would be nice to keep the 16U Junior Olympic title in Tennessee.

The Knoxville Yard Dogs are in the final 16 and play tomorrow to see if they get to advance to the final eight bracket play.

Yard Dogs lost by one run to the Arlington Wizards in a well-played game by both teams. (5-4) Congratulations to the Yard Dogs on a great season. Also Congratulations and good luck to the Knoxville Stars for playing in the championship game of the classic tourney. Good luck!!!!!

That is the same score we lost the the Wizards in the 1st game of the 15 AAU last year. I thought they looked even stronger this year. There were some fine teams in this year's tournament, even better than last year. Congratulations on your teams fine play this summer. It's too bad our teams never got to play this year, but my son is very happy that Cale is playing again. His HS team will need him this year.
