Union City gets this one by the skin of their teeth 21-16....After bolting out to a 21-0 lead in the first half the Tornadoes had to hold on for dear life...The Rebels showed the hearts of champions tonite as they scored just before half to close within 21-6 at half...They outscored the Tornadoes 10-0 in the second half where it seemed they stayed deep in Union City territory....The big story that will undoubtedly come out of this game will be the two non-calls at the end of the game..The Rebels were driving after Union City finally put them on their side of the 50 with a punt that pinned the Rebels on their own 16...The Rebels did not get, from my perspective and opinion, two pass interference calls that were really pretty obvious..Especially the last one on 4th down...But before the Rebel fans blame this loss on the refs they need to ask their coach why when they were down 21-9 they elected to go for the 1st on a long 4th down play...The Rebel kicker had already nailed a 37-38 yard FG with ease...Had they kicked the FG they would have been down 21-12 when they scored their last TD with close to 6 mins left in the game...That TD would have put them no worse than 21-18 and would not had to have scored a TD to win at the end..But Comer did some other things that didn't really make a whole lot of sense...He could have passed on UC all night..The UC corners just would not come up on those curl passes...Those things were open ALL night long....

UC played a darn good first half of football though...Speed had a 60+ TD run to put the Tornadoes up 14-0 after he had completed a log pass to close to the goalline on a drive that ended in a TD on UC's first scoring drive...UC got a lucky bounce that went into the endzone and was recovered by Josh Nicks for the final Tornado touchdown...UC has got to get better at ball security and cut out the penalties..Big win for the Tornadoes though to go 3-1 and more importantly 2-0 in region play....

Congrats to McKenzie for not giving up and playing until the very end and I personally hate the game ended the way it did.....
