An interesting stat...after 10 games the '08 Devils are giving up 9.3 points per game and the '07 Devils gave up 9.3 points per game after 10 games. My point is that this team is playing defense at the same level as they were last year. Let's hope the offense can come around and put some points on the board. The way the defense is playing, all we need is 3 TD's (and extra points/conversions) and no turnovers and we'll have a great chance of winning against anybody in the West.

 

hey moto take into consideration that jb defense scored 6 at forrest and the second string allowed 1 score for 6 i think the same game

THIS YEARS DEFENSE IS BETTER THAN LAST YEARS. LAST YEARS DEFENSE HAD THE PRIVELEGE PLAYING WITH AN OFFENSE THAT BUILT UP THREE- FOUR- FIVE TOUCHDOWN LEADS. IT IS MUCH EASIER TO PLAY DEFENSE WHEN YOU ARE EITHER PLAYING WITH A BIG LEAD OR YOU HAVE AN OFFENSE THAT YOU KNOW IS EXPLOSIVE.

 

IF YOU GO BACK AND LOOK AT FILM FROM LAST YEAR OUR DEFENSE WAS NOT VERY GOOD AGAINST THE RUN. EACH YEAR THE ROBERTSON COUNTY TIMES NAMES A COACH OF THE YEAR. I THINK IT WOULD BE GREAT IF COACH EARHEART, THE DEFENSIVE COACH, COULD SHARE THE AWARD WITH TOM. I THINK IT IS SAFE TO SAY NO OTHER SCHOOL IN THE COUNTY WILL HAVE A COACH IN CONSIDERATION.

i think you need to take off the caps. your giving me a headache. also the first paragraph has already been said and discussed. and i agree with you. your second paragraph is discussing politics and the opinions of sports writers, which means less than nothing. i don't put, and nobody should, any clout whatsoever on anything a newspaper says. that includes coach of the year and all county players. however, i do agree that coach earheart is an amazing coach and deserves to be recognized, but if you know him then you know that he doesn't need and probably doesn't want to get any recognition from a newspaper. he lets his defensive stats stand as a lasting testement to his coaching ability. and i think thats the way he wants it.

I agree, and you weren't too shabby yourself. I don't know if you seen it or not but I asked you in another thread why you stopped coaching @ JBS. And just in case you didn't see my original post, you've also done a great job of raising you kids. I've met your son and I recently worked with your daughter on the BGK project and they're great kids.

JBs defence from last year was a lot better. Region 5 is not as good as it was last year. Not even close.
