Columbia Central's Girls and Lawrence County's Boys won the championships in yesterday's tournament. Lawrence County defeated Central's boys by around 60 pins and the Central girls won by 150 pins over the Lawrence County girls. The Lawrence County teams were the top seeds in both brackets and had identical 9-1 district records. The Central girls and boys were the 3rd seeds. Both matches were close as they went into the final game seperated by less than 14 pins, and 9-7 on the points. It was Central's girls 6th consecutive District Championship! It is Lawrence County's first.

Aaron Davison had 750+ in the finals for Central. Central girls had 225 from Chrystan Lyle (F) in the final game and a 202 from Stevye Huff (S).

Congrats to everybody that is still bowling! I need to thank our detractor from earlier this season for the extra motivation! Give us another shot this week because we need all the help we can get going to Smyrna next week. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
