wow i was way off.....grace played like the team that got beat by a defeated baylor team earlier in the year....however I believe manassas forced them to play badly...thought grace was better...boy was I wrong...congrats to manassas...

 

Manassas is good. Chatt played right into Manassas hands with the full court man to man. Great game Manassas. If someone gets on here today and is critical of Buckner's game they really don't need to post again

I just tuned in @ the 2:30 min mark of 4th qtr........

 

The radio announcer asked the question (in an obviously annoyed manner) wondering WHY Manassas was "still pressing, with 2 minutes to go, and a 20-pt lead !!!!???"

Well, I'll tell you why:

 

1) Manassas' coach probably remembers last year's title game meltdown/letdown!

 

2) (It sounded like) Grace Baptist still had it's Starters in the game, trying to comeback

 

3) 20 pts is not necessarily an insurmountable lead, with 2:30 mins left in a game. That's only 7 possessions...

 

4) Manassas was NOT about to take any chances, allow Grace to get close, then run the unimiginable risk of having another meltdown!!!!!!

 

5) You play until the final horn, despite the score, especially if the opponent is still trying to mount a comeback!

The announcer was OBVIOUSLY suggesting that Manassas was exhibiting poor sportsmanship, by their late-game pressing tactics. Well, I beg to differ...

Personally, I do not know if it has ever happened.

 

I just know that, theoritically, it IS possible..... That's why is said, "not necessarily insurmountable..." Thus, don't take any chances....
