  1. I can admit that from the Shelbyville standpoint that some things could have been handled differently. Can ANYONE from Lawrence County admit that their students were ON THE COURT !!! ??? Can anyone from Lawrence County admit that their student STORMED THE COURT !!! ??? Can anyone from Lawrence County admit that they had NO ADMINISTRATION THERE TO CONTROL THEIR STUDENTS !!! ??? Can you??? I was there, on the Shelbyville side since that is where I live. Everything you say about LCHS is true. It is also true that the SCHS coach got a technical after the game was over, shoved a cheerleader, and Andrews sucker-punched a kid from LCHS. If the SCHS coach had not shoved the girl the LCHS SRO might have been able to stop some of what happened. Or, better yet, if he had joined the line to shake hands along with his players it would have all been avoided. Also, every school in 8AAA wishes they had LCHS's student section (or, in some cases, ANY student section) but, guys and gals, stay off the court.
  2. Where are you sitting? I am on the north side on my laptop. I assume since you criticize this kid then you are in the gym watching? No one has been critical of his game in any posts I have read the last few days, and I have read them all.
  3. Why not just play travel ball through October? Weather is good and college coaches could come see all of those players at one place during their off-season
  4. Nice strategy. At least Lawrence County has the 8AAA title for their efforts.
  5. It is still the age of no one taking responsibility for their actions. I hope the young man does because the my fellow fans with delusions of grandeur obviously don't. Good luck to the Golden Eagles.
  6. So. what pictures would have been taken? If. and I emphasize "if", they were pictures of a player leaving with the coach at 7:30AM with a book bag then that is explainable?
  7. Maybe the parents were not taking pictures of just the coach. Maybe they were taking pictures of the coach and the players leaving the coach's house/apartment as in maybe they were living there. What else would they be able to turn into the TSSAA?
  8. Lawrence County's easy win over Whites Creek was a real surprise. This game with Tullahoma may be closer than I would have thought, too.
  9. I think there is also a Mississippi school mixed in, too, and maybe one in Texas. What is this, 5 schools in five years or six in six?
  10. It may be the first time a 2-7 team that has been outscored 216-115 has gone into a game overconfident.
  11. Should be a good defensive game. Not sure FCHS can score on Smith County, though.
  12. You weren't at the game? Did you coach by cell phone?
  13. Including supporting a coach and a program?
  14. Racist? This is racist? Didn't know that. Glad you let me in on that. Now I understand.
  15. Seems like I remember Emory Hale using a pocket knife to clean his fingernails while talking to the players. Go on and get him guys. It is only a reflection on Oak Ridge, and no one else. Just tell everyone the real reason.
  16. This is only an issue because you guys don't like the coach and have been letting everybody know that from the day he was hired. Common sense, which OR fans seem to have lost, tells you this is a non-issue for an adult. If you don't get him for this you will find something else.

  18. And more influential parents. How much would 50 sets of supportive parents make in the typical public high school?
  19. The argument for private schools is that the education and athletics is better. Maybe the argument for public schools is that if Private schools didn't exist then public schools, and therefore the community, would be much better with the added support of those students/families/boosters/fundraisers.
  20. The schools make the rules for the TSSAA. The schools do not want to be investigated and do not want the TSSAA to have investigators. In the past, if someone walked into a gym and there were basketballs out and it was off-season, there was an obvious violation. Now you just say it is open gym and everything is fine. Schools all over the state, but not all schools, are cheating and they know it and their admin knows it. How could they not? The first day of basketball does not even raise the adrenalin any more because it is just like yesterday, and the day before, etc. None of what I am posting is aimed at Gibson County any more so than any other school in the state. I have never been in Gibson County.
  21. If you have open gym at 8AM, who else would be able to attend except the basketball players?
  22. I agree. I was just using softball as an example. Basketball coaches are their own worst enemies by making BB year-around. Football is doing the same to boy's sports. Very few players sign scholarships in relation to the number that are "forced" to concentrate on one sport. Please don't get me started on those volleyball shorts. Sexy is not exactly the word I would use. Decadent, maybe?
  23. It is pretty simple, really. Look and see how money was made in the 1990s off of AAU and you will see that it is from national sponsors, if at all. Now look and see how much money is made nowadays by exposure tournaments along with sponsors and you have your answer. In addition, look who the major supporters of AAU were then and see where they are now. They have different agendas today than in the 1990s and early 2000s. The level of basketball across the state is way down. The teams at the high school state in the last few years have declined tremendously. Very few if any teams at the state in 2008 could make the state 10, even 5, years ago. the main reason, in my opinion, is that parents and coaches are making kids concentrate on one sport and many do not end up in the sport for which they have the most talent. Basketball is losing athletes to softball and softball is losing athletes to basketball.
