There is no way Millington can be as good as they have been the last two years. They don't have the backs to replace Simpson and Holmes. There were some other good ones but their names escape me right now. I am not sure about their line play, but I don't think the qb is as good as Freyerson. I think Millington will be solid, but I think they will get slowed down. Matter of fact I think they get slowed down in game 1 vs. MUS.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. MUS lost an awful lot from last years team as well. Millington has a group of seniors that have only lost a total of 2 games in their 3 year career's. They don't know anything else but Winning. I agree that there are a number of question marks at the skill positions for the Trojans, But the Line's (both offensively and defensively) look to be potentially better than the last two years. The LB crew looks to be better and the defensive backfield has speed to burn. The Kicking Game both K and P are a big question mark seeing that we lost a 4 year starter (Blake Evans), and a 3 year starter (Matt Bartlenberger). Finding their replacements this summer will be a huge key.

We had the same concerns about the skill position players this time last year. Teseaun Holmes stepped up and quickly alleviated any of those concerns. Let's hope that someone will do the same this year. Mario Harwell looks to be a potential candidate. He has the big play ability.

I look for the Millington vs MUS game to be extremely tight. What a way to start the year!!

Go Trojans!!

ROBM, I pretty much agree with everything you have said, I believe our defense will also be better than the past two years, we should be big and fast it is possoble that we start a 200 lb safety, to go with outstanding group of linebackers. Now to the question that started this thread. This could very well be the best Millington team ever. I know some football folks that stay close to the program who believe it can be. However we have a very tough schedule early. We shall see.

GO TROJANS

Yes, Olive Branch has Millington, Brentwood Academy, and MUS over a three-week stretch (and Memphis East before the Millington game).

In addition to that they have their annual clash with South Panola and they play Starkville later in the year. That's a tough schedule!!
