Not a lot of region games of consequence this week. In fact, I can't even find one for East/Middle. SBEC goes to St. George's in match-up of likely playoff teams but also likely also-rans when it comes to division crowns. Since they're in separate divisions, not much more than pride is on the line but it should be a good competitive game b/w the two. Both have gone down hard to ECS. USJ has also beaten St. George's in a West 2 matchup. At this point, you have to say that SBEC, Harding, and FACS are likely fighting for 2nd and 3rd place in West 1 while St. George's is fighting for 2nd place with Jackson Christian and maybe an outside chance of Fayette Academy slipping in there over in West 2.

The marquee matchup is easily West 2 favorite University School of Jackson vs. West 1 favorite Evangelical Christian School. I believe the playoff brackets are already set w/ the West 1 and West 2 champs already set to play specific playoff pairings so this game doesn't determine a higher seed for the playoffs (unlike East/Middle which is one big division) but it certainly is a huge game for pride and confidence going into the 2nd half of the season and knowing what to expect in the playoffs.

Interestingly, it appears that the West 1 champ would eventually face the #2 seed from East/Middle in the state semis while the West 2 champ would face the #1 seed from East/Middle....so if we take a big leap to the end of the season and project the favorites moving on, USJ would be facing Webb and ECS would face the #2 seed from East/Middle. At this point, I suppose we'd be looking at Donelson Christian since they took out Davidson Academy early on. No offense to Zion Christian who is yet to lose and somehow skated and won't have to face either DA or DCA this year. They certainly have a schedule conducive towards moving into the group named above and making it into the 2nd slot. It would be interesting to see the tiebreaker involved for teams who haven't played each other.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
