This isn’t every single scenario but most of them and definitely the most likely ones. I’m sure I missed some permutation somewhere along the way. If somebody sees an error please point it out.

East/Middle

Mt. Juliet Christian-It appears they’re out. Even with a win over Riverside they’d lose the tiebreaker with Ezell-Harding for the 6th playoff spot.

St. Andrews-Sewanee-OUT, Even with a win over Davidson, they lose tiebreakers for last playoff spot.

Ezell-Harding-Must beat Franklin Road & Riverside must lose to MJCA. If that happens they’re #6 and travel to either Jackson Christian or St. George’s (West 2, #2) w/ either DCA or DA waiting in the 2nd round.

Riverside Christian-Must beat MJCA and Ezell-Harding must lost to FRA. If so, they’re #6 and travel to either Jackson Christian or St. George’s (West 2, #2) w/ either DCA or DA waiting in the 2nd round.

Zion Christian-IN. If FRA beats Ezell, then Zion is #5 and travels to either SBEC or FACS (West 1, #2) w/ either DA or DCA waiting in the 2nd round. If Ezell beats FRA, Zion is #4 and hosts either St. George’s or Fayette Academy (West 2, #3) w/ ECS waiting in the 2nd round.

Franklin Road Academy-IN. Beat Ezell and they’re #4 and host either St. George’s or Fayette Academy (West 2, #3) w/ ECS waiting in the 2nd round. Lose to Ezell, they’re #5 and travel to either SBEC or FACS (West 1, #2) w/ either DA or DCA in the 2nd round.

Knoxville Webb-IN. Beat Donelson Christian and Davidson beats SAS, they’re #2 and await the winner of JCS/SGIS vs. probably Riverside winner. Lose to DCA, then most likely #3 and host the FACS/SBEC loser(this Friday) 1st round w/ University School of Jackson waiting in the 2nd round.

Donelson Christian Academy-IN. Beat Webb and they’re #1 and await the FACS/SBEC (this Friday’s winner) vs. FRA/Zion 1st round winner in the 2nd round. Lose to Webb and DA wins and they’re #3 and host the FACS/SBEC loser(this Friday) 1st round w/ University School of Jackson waiting in the 2nd round.

Davidson Academy-IN. Beat SAS and they’re assured a bye. Not covering what happens if they lose to SAS. If DCA beats Webb and DA wins as expected vs. SAS, DA is #2 and awaits the JCS/SGIS vs. likely Riverside winner in round 2. If Webb beats DCA, then DA is #1 and awaits the FACS/SBEC (this Friday’s winner) vs. FRA/Zion 1st round winner in the 2nd round.

West 1

Bishop Byrne-OUT

Harding Academy-OUT

First Assembly Christian School- IN. Beat SBEC and host Zion/FRA 1st round as West 1 #2 seed w/ DA or DCA waiting in the 2nd round. Lose to SBEC and travel as West 1 #3 seed to Webb/DCA in the 1st round w/ USJ waiting in the 2nd round.

Southern Baptist Educational Center-IN. Beat FACS and host Zion/FRA 1st round as West 1 #2 seed w/ DA or DCA waiting in the 2nd round. Lose to FACS and travel as West 1 #3 seed to Webb/DCA in the 1st round w/ USJ waiting in the 2nd round.

Evangelical Christian School-IN. West 1 #1 seed clinched along with a 1st round bye. Awaits winner of SGIS/Fayette @ FRA/Zion winner in 2nd round.

West 2

Rossville Christian-OUT.

Tipton-Rosemark Academy-OUT.

Fayette Academy-Lose to JCS on Friday and they’re OUT. Beat JCS on Friday and they travel as the West 2 #3 seed to FRA/Zion with ECS waiting in the 2nd round.

St. George’s-IN. Beat Rossville as expected and if JCS beats Fayette, they travel as the West 2 #3 seed to FRA/Zion with ECS waiting in the 2nd round. If Fayette beats JCS, they host 1st round as the West 2 #2 seed w/ likely Riverside coming and the #2 East/Middle seed either DA or Webb waiting in the 2nd round.

Jackson Christian- Lose to Fayette on Friday and they’re OUT. Win vs. Fayette on Friday and they host 1st round as the West 2 #2 seed w/ likely Riverside coming in and the #2 East/Middle seed either DA or Webb waiting in the 2nd round.

University School of Jackson- IN. District champs and 1st round bye clinched. They await the FACS/SBEC @ DCA/Webb winner in round 2.

The ECS bracket would meet the #2 E/M team (either DA or Webb) in the semi-finals.

The USJ bracket would meet the #1 E/M team (either DA or DCA) in the semi-finals.

Okay, so if webb wins against dca they have a bye and then play at home or away in the 2nd round? If they lose it looks like they host in 1st round then prolly will travel to jackson, right?

Webb would get the 1st round bye and HOST the 2nd round game if they beat DCA this Friday. Correct on hosting 1st round and the winner going to Jackson the next week if DCA wins this Friday.

thanks for sortin this out. so i guess a #2 seed from e/m is higher than a #2 seed from west district 2. that's what i wasn't sure about.

It's definitely confusing b/c the two sides chose different methods to choose playoff teams. The West chose to go with 2 districts and East/Middle with just 1 big region not broken up by districts.

So you've got 1,2, & 3 seeds from West 1 and West 2 to get 6 playoff teams.

Then you've got 1,2,3,4,5, & 6 seeds from East/Middle to get 6 playoff teams.

So the #1 seeds from West 1 and West 2 get byes essentially getting the nod as the top 2 teams from the West. The #1 and #2 teams from East/Middle also get byes as the top 2 teams from East/Middle.

The #2 seeds from the West are the rough equivalents of #3 and #4 from East/Middle.

The #3 seeds from the West are the rough equivalents of #5 and #6 from East/Middle.

Trojan - you are the man. Thanks for these posts. Helps a lot.

Assuming you are from SBEC? Man, was it cold at your place Friday night !

Enjoyed being on your campus - everyone was super nice and very hospitable.

Correct, SBEC. Glad you folks had a good experience on your visit and very glad to have y'all, JCS, and Fayette joining us in DII as well as all the new schools in East/Middle. More competition just makes everybody raise the bar...or at least I hope so. You folks have a really fine club and it was enjoyable to get to see them after seeing how well they've played all year based on the scores.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the baseball team and Preston Overbey this year. Selfishly, I hope y'all will be making a trip to Southaven for baseball this year.

Riverside Christian #6 E/M at St. George's #2 West 2- winner travels to Knoxville Webb #2 E/M

Fayette Academy #3 West 2 at Franklin Road Academy #4 E/M- winner travels to ECS #1 West 1

The 2 brackets above meet in the semi-finals.

Zion Christian #5 E/M at SBEC #2 West 1- winner travels to Davidson Academy #1 E/M

FACS #3 West 1 at Donelson Christian #3 E/M- winner travels to University School of Jackson #1 West 2

The 2 brackets above meet in the semi-finals.

Folks, if I've missed any logic here, please jump in and correct it. Davidson did take care of Sewanee, right? There were several scores tonight that would never have been as close or ended w/ these results without the weather and conditions. I'd be willing to bet some money on it....but assuming DA took care of SAS, that's the bracket.

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
