I have to agree, those were really good games. Red Bank was down by 20 and to come back and lose by 5. They really picked up on their defense later in the game. I didn't get to see all of the Sequatchie and Meigs County game but I was impressed with both teams. Seeing alot of sophmores on the floor really doing their thing can't wait to see them in the up coming years. Let's see what happens Friday and Saturday.

Red Bank 65-36 over Sequatchie today. Slow start for both teams, 8-7 after one. Red Bank got it to 27-13 by the half and led by close to if not 20 in the third..Sequatchie played some of their best ball of the season and got it to 10 and things basically fell apart after that on both ends. 44-26 after three. Red Bank hit 5 of their 7 threes in the fourth to win going away. Not sure of Red Bank's individual numbers, Sequatchie was led by McAfee, 10 points, 14 rebounds. Sequatchie did better in some parts of the game, decent job of preventing offensive rebounds, not just on the actual number but also on the percentage, cut down turnovers from Meigs game even though RB was better defensively than Meigs (no offense to Meigs). Shooting was bad, from the field (a dozen+ missed up close, uncontested or barely contested lay-ups or putbacks) and from the line, there's no way they'll beat a quality team with that kind of performance. It also helped Red Bank's break, when Sequatchie scored they did a decent job on defense. Walker Valley Saturday, I'm anxious to see if they've improved since a big loss to them last week.

Graduated 4 seniors, 3 starters and 1 who didn't play a lot but provided some leadership-Barker (TN Tech, scored 21 ppg), Lockhart (Lee, about 16 ppg, 10 rpg, 4 bpg), Cooley (Chattanooga State softball, about 9 ppg, leading 3 point shooter). Three other seniors had played 3 years but didn't last year including Ledford (Furman, all-state as sophomore). Melanie Barker and McAfee started every game last year as freshmen. Two other posts got a pretty good amount of playing time to be freshmen last year, one junior guard started a few games after Lockhart went out late in the year, with the team leading against Chattanooga Christian (only district loss in 3 years). Others didn't get a lot of time except in blowout wins that don't teach a whole lot. This year's group has 0 seniors, 3 juniors, the remainder sophomores and freshmen. They have a long way to go but it's still early and the schedule has been rugged with Walker Valley, Polk, Red Bank all having good teams and Meigs being as experienced as any group around (Free Press said they have 5 starters back from the region semifinal team, they were 3-0 entering the game with Sequatchie).
