downtown247
The fact that Tyler Hood is not a AAA finalist is ridiculous. He is the best player in AAA in East TN. He has been the MVP of his district the last 2 years and is a division 1 signee. While Hood is not a high major signee I think this award should be based on what you do in high school only, not who you sign with. Hood is more valuable to his team than Jackson, Prather, and Thomas are to their respective teams. Without Hood LC would be at the bottom of the district and would have already been eliminated from tournament play. This is not a lifetime achievement award! Wow now...Just curious who has Tyler Hood signed with?? Anyway to your point. Hood might be great and congrats on his signing to continue his education and basketball career but a lot of kids get snubbed for the list. It's only three spots. Now your point is valid for Adonis Thomas because he has 3-5 other D-1 caliber players with him but Joe Jackson and Prather's team would be nothing without them. In AAA Memphis, White Station would be last in the district. Jackson Northside would be the same way. They wouldn't have any size without Casey.. AAA- Joe Jackson DII-A- Meiko Lyles (John Ross Glover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) DII-AA- Jordan Price Who will probably win it (Who I think should win it) Why should Glover win it?? He is good and will probably get one before he graduates, but definately should not win it this year. Lyles and Tarwater are both more deserving. mjl4e
Jamaal Hughes at Oakland should have been in Class 3A! This kid can go! When Wright takes the Patriots to the State Tournament, everyone will know then!!!

Lyles is a good player and is more than deserving of the award, but I like John Ross Glover's game! It is just unbelievable for a sophomore! Thats my reasoning! Everyone knows this award has become a JOKE over the past 2 years I know of! How does Joe Jackson not win AAA last season?????? How does Chris Crawford get left off this season????? The answer is TN MR. BASKETBALL is a JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But that fact is totally irrelevent since the award is HIGH SCHOOL MR. BASKETBALL not "The Kid that Signs with the Biggest School" Award. LC would have no size without Hood. Without him they would be starting 6'1" post players. It is obvious that you are a Memphis homer. Hood has been named All State, 2 Time District MVP, and broken every school record that stands at LC. I find it extremely hard to believe that White Station has no one to go with Jackson...They are ranked nationally most years. I'm sorry but you do not get ranked in the USA Today Poll by having one great player. It just doesn't happen!

I'm sorry but you do not get ranked in the USA Today Poll by having one great player. It just doesn't happen! Haha now this is funny.I was just curious about him signing not that it should play in to the award. PLus I'm no way a Memphis homer, I'm just a basketball junkie that states facts my friend. Downtown White Station is not Oak Hill. They have one superstar another solid player, and some decent players. Without Joe, White Station would be last. Now Prather is even more crucial to his team. He is really a sf but plays c for Northside, and he gets all the rebounds and leads them in every other stat. Without him Northside starters would be much smaller than 6'1. Now you said this award should be based on your high school achievements not who you sign with....Casey Prather averages like 27 ppg and 15 rebounds. Joe Jackson is the leading scorer in Memphis averaging around 33 ppg.
asgoodasioncewas
Seems like White Station might have won a few games before Joe Jackson was there. Taking one player from White Station and then they become last, might be a little extreme. Don't get me wrong Jackson is the the best player in the State has been for the past 3 years. What difference do winning games before Joe Jackson has to do with anything....No it's not extreme, if you take Joe Jackson off of WS, they would be battling for last with Hamilton and Mitchell.
