From Coach Stephen Petricca:

Coaches, Parents, and Wrestlers,

LIONS PRIDE GRAPPLING produced multiple Freestyle and Greco State Champions last year (09) in all ages and weights and we had 17 of our Lions Pride family make it to the 2010 TSSAA High School State Championships, we had 6 Medalists, 1 Runner Up, and 1 State Champion.

It’s that time again, the Freestyle and Greco-Roman season is upon us and we are off to our 3rd year and growing at an incredible rate. Middle TN is producing some great wrestlers and we look to improve that with another successful season of training and wrestling. We are also the fastest growing area in the state of TN, and are currently the 3rd largest club state wide (we hope to be the largest after this year). As some of you know we have been developing ages 5 - university for 3 years now and the demand for our club/training style and technique has required us to add clubs in multiple locations. This year we are offering Beech HS, Mt. Juliet HS and we are working on a North Williamson County location as well as a Rutherford County location.

We produced multiple Freestyle and Greco State Champions last year in all ages and weights. We are doing great things this year to elevate the training level by going to a unified training syllabus created by myself and a former Dan Gable 4 yr wrestler at Iowa (who also sent someone to the Olympics in 2008). This training syllabus will be instituted this year and all locations will follow the same regiment of training to give our students the TOP LEVEL training they deserve. Every location will follow the same syllabus and it will be taught identically at every location so no matter where the student attends camp at they get the same benefit. This training syllabus will be instructed by myself, and a number of highly qualified coaches with college and beyond experience to include a few All Americans.

This is a 15 week season and we practice 3 days a week and we attend around 8 tournaments in various states including 4 in the state of Tennessee, 2-3 in Indiana, and 1-2 in Georgia. If you want your wrestler to be exposed to some of the best technique in the south we recommend our program. A overwhelming majority of the top medalist last weekend at the TSSAA State Championships are Freestyle Wrestlers. We repeatedly get coaches telling us that the students who attend the program progress about 2 years in just one 15 week season with us.

Cost for the season is $200 (averages just over $50 a month) and a USA Wrestling card for $35 (required)

Go to http://www.lionspridegrappling.com for additional information and details. We hope to see you out there and we encourage you to come and hear what we have to say at one of the pre season meeting. Parents, Coaches, and Wrestlers are invited to hear about the season, training, what to expect, and what you will get…

March 1st, at Beech HS Cafeteria at 6:30 PM

March 2nd, at McGavock HS Wrestling Room at 6:30

Please forward this email to any parents, coaches, club programs, feeder programs, or middle school programs that may be interested.

See you at the preseason meeting.

Sincerely,

Coach Stephen Petricca
