Hendersonville beat Lebanon 6-3 tuesday night

Beech beat Station Camp 4-0

The district play format in 9AAA is awful... half the district only plays 1 game vs. the other half.

this will be the only time beech plays station camp this season. really should be playing a 3 game series with each team to see who the best "TEAM" is, not just the team with 1 good pitcher.

Hendersonville (7-0) and Mt. Juliet play wednesday night at Hendersonville, this will be there only district game of the season. Should be a nice night for baseball.

anyone know what happened in the upset last night between hendersonville and mt. juliet?

Mt. Juliet scored with 2 outs in the top of the 7th, then shut down Hendersonville in order in the bottom to win 1-0. Very good game by both teams and pitchers. Very impressed with HHS especially in starting 3 sophomores. Curtis and Carroll both had outstanding outings.

In regards to the district schedule, in talking to several of the coaches, it was a district voted decision to set up the 2 divisions and the format of playing 2 games within the division and 1 outside the division. Other wise, with 8 teams in the district, a team would have to play 14 district games, plus if you go to your 4 tournaments there's 12 more games leaving only 4 to play outside of the district. From my understanding, the coaches wanted the opportunity to play more games outside of the district and with no automatic qualifier, it all boils down to the district tournament anyway. The season is just for tournament seeding purposes. Now compared to Rutherford Co., their district only has 6 schools so the 3 game series made some sense and they have decided that the regular season winner gets the automatic qualifier. It's just a difference in thought between the two districts.
