Have not seen much info on Nashville metro teams, and wonder with all the head coaching changes how are the teams doing. Scrimmage results, team numbers, and combating the heat at practice.

On the subject of Metro Nashville schools, for those interested in the football histories of the older schools, I have spent part of the offseason compiling scores/records during the playoff era (1969-Present). There are a few gaps here and there, and there likely may be a mistake or two in there, but these should be close (click a school for results):

Antioch (1969-2009): 202-227-1

Glencliff (1969-2009): 165-254-5

Hillsboro (1969-2009): 253-202-0

Hillwood (1969-2009): 179-244-1

Hunters Lane (1986-2009): 151-107-0

Maplewood (1969-2009): 235-202-2

McGavock (1971-2009): 219-194-0

Overton (1969-2009): 287-164-1

Pearl-Cohn (1983-2009): 139-162-0

Stratford (1969-2009): 235-200-2

Whites Creek (1978-Present): 197-155-0

Pearl-Cohn did not allow a score in scrimmages against Hillsboro & Pope John Paul II. They then backed that up by completely shutting out Hunters Lane in the jamboree.

The Tenessean picked the Firebirds to go all the way to the State Championship Game and meet up with Alcoa in December.

Their schedule is brutal this season. MBA, Clarksville-Northeast, BGA, David Lipscomb, Maplewood, and Fort Campbell (KY) will all be very strong. CPA will be very well coached and no pushover either! I don't look for East Literature, Stratford, or Whites Creek to pose much of a threat to PC this season but those other 7 games are going to be wars!

SHS soundly defeated Mcgavock last evening 28 to 14 with Mcgavocks 2nd score coming against the 2nd string D.

What may have been left out by Springfield's head coach (see above) is that McGavock moved the ball up and down the field (fumbling twice in the red zone as well as throwing an interception-one t.o. was on the four yard line). McGavock also opened the game with a pick that Springfield turned into a score, and then fumbled on the very next play they had the ball (resulting in another score). And, if McGavock scored their last one on Springfield's 2s, Springfield scored their last two on McGavock's back-ups. I am becoming what I despise, a scrimmage negotiator...how about this, from someone that has no ties to either team, they both have talent, and should do well.
