Lebanon bluedevils are stacked this year. they have one of the top middle infields in the state this year with trevor davis at second. Davis can swing it with the best of them with power to all fields and can hit for average. not to mention the kid has wheels. at short you got jessup polk. if this kid isnt all state this year somethings wrong cause hes a 5tool player. this team may have one of the best pitchin staffs that have come through lebanon in a long time. cain sloan has been clocked in the low 90s a few times. he aslo has a curveball that is similar to chris carpenter of the st louis cardinals. jessup polk also will see time on the mound and his fastball is sneaky quick . i predict this team to have no more than 5 losses this year and break all kinds of records on offense.

No offense to cain, but you can't compare his fastball to Carpenter's...He is at a whole different level. But, he is a great pitcher that should have a big year this year. Good luck to the Devils this year and I hope they do make it all the way

ill continue then blackman, brandon shelton is a vaccum at first and can pick it withthe best of them. he also has a lot of power but most likely wont put up a 300+ battin average. jack mckeon, is one of the top underclassmen in the mid state and maybe even the state. i didnt get to see him play a whole lot last year but did see him fall a single short of the cycle against wilson central last year. he hit 2 off the wall and one over. he has some pop. there only shakey position is catcher. its either going to be jessup or rob bell. both have good pop times. but rob isnt as good at blocking as polk. but either way i stand by my statement about no more than 5 losses. i honesly feel this is the team to beat.

predictions

1) davis- 320 5hrs 30 RBIs 20 SB

2) Mckeon- 340 6hrs 40 RBIs 10 SB

3) Polk- 400 8 hrs 55 RBIs

4) Shelton- 250 BA. 5 hrs. 35 RBIs

5) Sloan- 310 BA. 4-6 Hrs. 35 RBIs

6) Burger- 240 BA 20 RBIs

7) Lackey- 260 BA 2hrs 15 RBIs

8) Whitefield- 280 BA. 20 SB

9) Chase Slone- 240 BA 15 SB

Cain Sloan- 10-2. 75Ks .285 ERA

Jessup Polk- 8-1. 85 Ks. .310 ERA

Maybe this is the year for Lebanon, lord knows they are due, Now isn't MJ in their conference as well? I have seen the Sloan boy throw and while he is a good pitcher....I never saw anything close to 90......mid 80's maybe ....I have a gunned many a kid and I can say that most of the time these high school players are not throwing as hard as you think.

But I agree they should be much improved I will take any bet you want on the 5 losses statement.......

Now Lebanon should be good this year, not sure about state champs but they have improved.I've watched LHS play last year and the one before. They had one good season in 09 and in 10 they were down but now returning every player from last year and gaining some pretty good freshman they look to be good this year. But some of the line up the Goon put out doesnt seem to be right. I see it this way

catcher- Rob Bell

1st-Brandon Shelton

2nd-Michael Hastings-Trevor Davis

3RD-Cain Sloan

SS-Chase Slone

Lf-Jack Partlow

Cf-Jack Mckeon

Rf-Jessep Polk

They should be good on defence and offence this season. A good middle infield and good speed in the outfield if the devils bats come alive they will look to have a solid season.

Wilson Central has some excellent players offensively. They beat Lebanon at LHS 12-9, sloan had two homeruns a 2-run and 3-run homerun which is the only reason that game was even close. Then tonight WC beat Lebanon at WCHS 4-1. Central has some good pitching but I believe an overall better hitting team than in team in the district.

Wow, very impressive... sounds like WC has your number like they had ours. See you this week.

Besides 2 w/SC, who does Lebanon have left to makeup district games? Looks to be a close race for seeding.

I've never watched Lebanon play but i find it hard to believe anyone could win a championship with those type averages. The ERA's are high too, are these the top 2 pitchers?

Of course they are, you gotta' drink the Devilade to believe. 5 losses... really? Is that just district or overall?

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
