Northeast High School wrestling coach Thomas Bleyle resigned late last week under allegations of "inappropriate use of school system technology."

Elise Shelton, chief communications officer, Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, said the book is closed on the matter because students weren't involved, and Bleyle resigned.

"That's all we've got on it because we don't pursue an investigation as long as the person resigns," Shelton said, "unless it involves students, and then the police department is involved."

Bleyle served as Northeast's wrestling coach the past four years and has helped more than two dozen Eagle wrestlers make individual state wrestling appearances. He finished .500 with a 14-14 dual record in this first year with the program during the 2007-08 seaso. The next season his team jumped to 17-12 during the dual season.

Last season, injuries and youth claimed a promising year as the Eagles struggled to a 7-21 dual record.

Bleyle's adrupt departure comes just a week and half before the region duals start and the transition could hamper what chances the Eagles had of making a run at a state duals appearance.

Prior to leading the wrestling program, Bleyle was assistant coach for the Eagles' track and field program.

He is a native of Minneapolis and wrestled in high school near Hastings, Minn. After graduating, he entered the military, which brought him to Fort Campbell and eventually to Northeast High.
