Perry County- Now i am calling upset of the year in basketball. The key to this game I would say is gonna be Dray Mercer. He is gonna have to get the ball in transition and turn on the ole "Johnny Rockets" he is gonna have to get out and get to the basket quick. Outside of the transition i say its gonna have to be Cannon Rhodes and Taylor Dill to step up be confident and knock down the shots they are capable of. Rhodes has the 3 ball and Dill has a great jumper and can get to the basket. Now the defensive players who will need to show up (besides obviously everyone) but the "Heart of the D" is gonna have to be Jacob Tucker having a good game in boxing out and taking the charges that are in the Tucker blood. Also Garrett Hill i think will need to be in the ball handlers jock strap all night long making it tough for him to do anything. Hill also needs to distribute the ball on the offensive end with great decisions. The role players in Gilboy and the smaller roles the other players play will also need to be nearly flawless.

Well that is the prediction i have and i believe the PC team is gonna be highly prepared and well coached with a great strategy by Kirk Haston. If there is a coach who can put together a great strategy, hype up his team, and get the teams mind right i would trust kirk. Well i know i put out a very detailed and nearly explained a perfect game for the Vikings but thats what its gonna take to upset the "best" in 1A, a perfect game from your very own Perry County Vikings.

Its going to be a tall task at hand and things will definitely have to go their way, but anything can happen in a one and done setting we all know that, PC is capable of winning I think, but they will have to play their best and CA will have to make some mistakes but Good Luck to the Vikings, I hope we can do it!!!

It will be a hard task there two big men are are about as good as they come CA dosent make many mistakes. They are very quick and play defense as good as i have seen. They shot the lights out against McEwen the other night and won by 23 i belive. They are the team to beat. Good luck monday night.

I will half to agree on that. They did get beat pretty good but you also must take into consideration they had a off night like no other. If McEwen played like that they would not be in the Region 5 championship game they would be lucky to be in the Region 5 tourment. If you went by that game. I would be shock to see PC beat CA my opinion I dont see PC coming close to beating them I say they get beat by 13 points or more.

If CA wins, then it would be an upset.

Im not going to argue with you. Clarksville Academy is going to win espically at home Perry County has not one person that can guard Malcolm or Martin. You would half to double team both of them and then that just leaves there PG and Wings wide open to drive in or hit the 3. Perry county might have Taylor Dill and Jacob Tucker and they might be quick but I would put my money CA anyday against them. I think this game will not even be close if they play like they did at the Championship agianst McEwen.

    • One final thought. Coach Keith claims he was not aware of the player's failing grades. I won't comment on that, just to say this, IF he did not, whose job was it to see that this kid did not play ball at CHS? That person should be looking for a job and they might be, I don't know.
    • They have fired the principal, 2 teachers, at least 1 counsellor and 1 coach so far. I don't see it from my view in Oak Ridge as a coach thing, he  was just implicated in asking 1 teacher to  fix 1 kid's grades.   In our local media(Clinton and Oak Ridge)the principal is who is the originator and pusher of the fraud. The others are peripheral. The coach isn't even the big story, just here on a sports site.  The media view is the principal did it to cause CHS to be seen as excellent by the state. He committed fraud to do that so he might spend a little time in jail IF that is valid.
    • And from coach himself, he wasn’t told he was let go because of the ineligible player.    that’s just what the schools needed to happen to fit their bull
    • Wish it was made clear before a coach gets let go or not retained instead of being sold as the reason he was in trouble. I was told the kids who got grades changed, 97% or better were non athletes but the coach is taking all the heat so the schools can pretend it wasn’t their job to know. heck, what do you think could happen when you hire husband and wife as head principal and head guidance….   that’s not being said though…
    • Hmmmmm……doe dee doe doe.  Last time I came up there to watch my pirates one of those guys in that pickup trucks flattened the tires on the lawnmower.  This is payback.  You can bet the lawnmower on that.
