How will they fair in 2011? They have an outstanding group of juniors. Can they get back to the post season after missing out in the last three? I think it is a lock.

There's a lot of excitement surrounding this team. They have experience (FINALLY!), good depth and players on the offensive/defensive lines, and some guys who are real playmakers. The schedule is tough with the likes of Fairview, Mt. Pleasant, Jo Byrns, and of course arch rival Sycamore on the "non-district" schedule. The district features Camden & Creek Wood at the top. Other playoff contenders include Montgomery Central, Waverly, Harpeth, and Stewart County. I am anxious to see if this group can have a special season in what will be Coach Finley's 10th year as Cubs head football coach.

Great coach no doubt. They are faster then most Chetham county teams have been in past. A close second behind the 2006 Sycamore team.

The '06 SHS team was a great squad. Those wins at Meigs County & Station Camp in the playoffs were memorable. If this Cheatham County team can potentially be as great as that team was then Cubs fans will have a lot to cheer about in '11. The first game of the season is at Fairview. They were a 10-2 football team and return several key cogs from that team that advanced to the 2nd round of the playoffs last year. The Cubs have 2 weeks and 3 total preseason tests to prepare for that game (as well as the rest of the regular season). It all begins tomorrow!

Potts has all district written all over him. That guy carries his own. Faster than he looks!

The most exciting part about this Cubs team is that the senior class includes just 4 players. Grady Chipman is the only one of those players that looks to be a major factor on the offensive and defensive side of the football. The junior class is consists of 16 players and 11 of those guys have seen starting action throughout the last 2 years. Those guys still have 2 more years of playing time remaining at Cheatham County!

I see them getting in the playoffs this year and next year maybe getting into the second round and maybe the third round. It will be interesting to watch!

The Cubs haven't been to the playoffs since 2007 (when they had qualified for the playoffs for 6 straight years) and I know they would like to return this year.
