I wanted to let everyone know about a terrific wrestling clinic held by Nashville Catholic Wrestling club on October 13-14th, 2012 at Father Ryan High School’s new wrestling facility. I can't say enough great things about this clinic, please mark you calendars to be at this 2 day clinic.

This is the weekend before the Super 32 in Greensboro, NC. So it will be a terrific time to polish up for this pre-season national tournament.

Cost is only $100 for all (3) sessions. (2) sessions on Saturday and (1) session on Sunday.

This clinic is open to any middle or high school kids with at least 1 years experience.

2X NCAA champion, and current University of Illinois Assoc. Head Coach Mark Perry will be the clinician. Coach Perry has been named the best young college coach in America.

Coach Mark Perry comes from perhaps the most famous wrestling family in America. A native of Stillwater, Oklahoma his uncles, Lee Roy, John, Pat, and Mark Smith all wrestled collegiately at Oklahoma State and garnered All-American honors 12 times and won seven NCAA titles. John Smith is widely considered to be the best American freestyle wrestler ever, while Pat Smith was the first four-time NCAA champion in Division I. If that's not enough, his father, Mark, was a two-time All-American for Oklahoma State and served as a Division I assistant coach at Nebraska and Oklahoma State. His younger brother, Chris, was one of the nation's top recruits last year and is now a freshman (expected to redshirt) at Oklahoma State.

Perry and was the 17th four-time All-American and 14th two-time national champion in NCAA history. He defeated Michigan's Eric Tannenbaum in the championship match in 2008 and took down two-time defending champion Johny Hendricks of Oklahoma State in the 2007 finals. Perry also defeated Tannenbaum in the 2007 Big Ten championship match. Perry also won the Gorrarian Trophy after he pinned four opponents at the 2007 NCAA Championships.

He was named the NWCA Rookie of the Year in 2005 and the Iowa Athlete of the Year in 2007. Perry also was a four-time finalist at the Midlands Championships, winning two titles.

The former Hawkeye wrestler was an assistant coach at Penn State in 2008-09 before taking the position at Cal Poly in 2009. At Penn State, Perry helped a pair of wrestlers to freshman All-America honors and he has directed Mark Perry Wrestling Camps nationwide for the past four summers.

Perry earned his B.A. in art from Iowa in 2008. He was a two-time high school national champion at Blair Academy in New Jersey and a three-time Asics High School All-American while posting a 169-7 career record.

    • Im asking everyone to keep roy whited and his family in your prayers. Coach whited won back to back state championships at white county in 98-99. He is very well liked and respected in this area. For those of you that dont know he went missing 3 days ago. No one knows where he is. His truck was found in a rural part of the county. Thanks again. We are all very concerned.
    • West would be a good team to get behind if they can pull it off again like last year. That championship game last year was awesome.
    • I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.
    • I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!
    • Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
