They have a very good meat processing class in the Carter County school. You can take them a live cow at 8:00 and the students kill it, skin it, cut it into steaks and grind it into hamburger and you can pick it up by 3:00. Elizabethton City Schools have some of the highest ACT scores in the state. They are all great schools with great teachers just different choices.

One reason is that if you go to Carter County schools you are out of school most of Jan. and Feb. because of Cloudland. Cloudland will have 7 inches of snow and the other parts of the county will have rain.

but they all go the same number of days required by the state. County Schools just go to June and City Schools are out in May.

Here is one reason why Elizabethton and Carter County Schools had 3 girls teams in State and 3 boys teams in substate. Send your kids down and play. They go on like this every weekend.

I thought the Elizabethon team played well in the state tourney- A great group of kids- stayed in the same hotel with their team/cheerleaders as well as the UC team and everyone was very respectful and well behaved and showed everyone how student athletes should be. Hope for the best for your program as you move up in classification.

Elizabethton girls will be good for at least the next 3 years. no freshman was recruited, they have been playing together in junior high school & aau in the summer & live in the city & are not from county schools. Be happy for the team for doing so well instead of trying to make up stories of why they are doing good. they should've won the state tournament!

Elizabethton will lose 4 seniors, Depew, Demoss, Madgett & Roberts. All 4 were starters. Depew, point guard, suffered an ACL injury & has been out for a few months. Bradley, took over the point guard position & did a great job, as well as Perry. Depew received a scholarship & will be playing at Tusculum next year. I'm not sure if Demoss & Roberts are playing in college, I think they should, but I don't know if they are.
