nrgrizzlies
Does anybody have anything on this game? The Tennessean didn't even have a decent box score on it. Is it true Tullahoma was up 25-8 and lost 35-25?
blueboy
Does anybody have anything on this game? The Tennessean didn't even have a decent box score on it. Is it true Tullahoma was up 25-8 and lost 35-25? It took Mcgavock a while to figure out where they were. Once that happened.... well you saw the result. nrgrizzlies
Did Tullahoma's defense wear down? It wasn't that hot/humid last night. I saw one McGavock scrimmage - they have some fast guys. Did they break a bunch of long runs to pull away? How was Tullahoma on size/strength and team speed? fballfiend
http://www.tullahomanews.com/?p=17736 Seems McGavock put on drives, not just busting big runs. I know they were playing with their back up QB in the game, that's a great comeback for them hopefully they can keep it up and make some noise this year. Overton won against Ryan as well, big wins for the metro teams.
nrgrizzlies
I'd have to say that after going 4-6 and just missing the playoffs last year(included an upset of Ryan)... Hillwood is the total disappointment of week 0 in Metro. Getting completely blown out by a literature magnet school in football? Ravenwood is not in Metro, but they have to be a candidate for most improved. The addition of Van Jefferson (with Chris Johnson, Kenny Britt, Nate Washington, etc. there to cheer him on) and Will Hester, master of the no-huddle offense directing the program now - they should be able to compete with anybody on their schedule and maybe make the playoffs. They are mostly small on the O and D lines (one big guy on each side) but some of small line guys appear to be strong and good athletes. I don't like McGavock's odds against Clarksville Rossview (they beat Hillsboro by 2 td's) but they should be favored or at least clost to a "pick 'em" in most of the rest. (Glencliff, Hillwood, and Hunters Lane should be easy wins)
wingman10
McGavock got a good win for Metro. Congrats
